Glad you got one. Julio is the only one too talk to when it comes to Alky Kits. He knows his stuff.

got the new turbo yesterday, didnt know i had to use the old downpipe elbow, anybody know where to get the gasket? or will hi temp rtv work just as good? btw, it came with 2 oil drain gaskets, one thin, one thick, not sure why. it also has a fitting on the oil feed hole that in effect will raise the height once i put the old fitting into it, not sure how much of a problem that will cause, but i quess i will find out

The exaust elbow I used a copper gasket, I got it from nos4gn.com. Maybe some of the other guys will tell you something else might work in place of gasket.

When I took my exaust elbow apart, I believe it did not have a gasket on it.

Did yours have a gasket there?

i am talking about the the part that bolts to the turbo housing itself then bolts to the downpipe on the compresser side, cottons said it had one but was hard to find

my bad, i see what you are talking about now , i never would have quessed a copper gasket went there and no mine didnt have one, but cotton said u can use rtv and it should have one

For the oil drain gasket you can use either one. Just one. I just use the thin gasket but I spray a light coat of this on both sides....

Keeps it in place while you are bolting it on and I never had a leak there using that stuff. 80% of the turbo six cars out there if you reach under the turbo and touch that area with your finger chances are it will come out wet with oil! Always leaks there.

For the turbo exhaust housing to elbo I take a little bit of this....

smear it on my finger and run a thin bead around the flat part where they meet. I also put a thin bead around where the downpipe mounts to the elbo. Never any exhaust leaks that way!

Also make sure you crank the car for awhile and don't start it! You want to prime the turbo with some fresh oil. I just unplug the ECM orange connector by the battery and turn the car over several times till I see oil pressure gauge go up. Maybe 4 or 5 cracks maybe 10 seconds each. That way you have some fresh oil flowing thru the new turbo before you fire it up and get some heat on everything. Then take it out for a ride and give it a few good heat cycles and check all your bolts to make sure everything is tight after a few heat cycles!

Most guys just run the copper silicone stuff. That fitting in the center section is,I believe, a restrictor because I think the ball bearing turbos require less oiling.

Just bend the feed line accordingly.

according to the instructions(which i just found, buried under all the packing paper) that is a oil inlet filter, that has a tamper evident seal, u remove it , void your warranty. never gave much thought to the stock heat shield, but looks like it will fit.sorry for all the dumb questions, just not real big fan of doing the same thing twice:coffee:

Auto zone can get them in a day... 234-1001 $19.95

They also carry the Bosch o2 for the wb's... Part # 17014 $51
i got a denso 234 -1001 in the mail yesterday from highway stars. it was too long, hit the water hose, just put a ac/ delco in,hope to have everything in and running tomorrow :eam:

replaced the oil feed line ,removed and cleaned the oil drain line .turbo is next, when that goes right ill buy a car hauler and make my way to ohio ,btw jason can hook the alky for me when i get there

Sorry to hear the 02 sensor didn't fit....I am curious as to why it doesn't. Do you have any pics of it hitting? Just pack it back up and I'll buy it off ya in Ohio since I told you to buy it.

Here you go; pics of some of the things I got.

New parts are the best!!! Looks great.

I now see the 02 sensor issue...

Let me ask you this (and everyone on the board)....does the piece it is hitting looking OEM? I am not home to check my car, but I do not think that I have the second rubber hose. It almost looks like someone cut the hard line and installed that rubber coupler. That might be your issue. And while you are in there replace those rubber hoses!!! They suck to do with the turbo on.

The hoses look OEM to me, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

They are OEM...having mine(engine) in and out more than I care to admit, there is some adjustability there. The intake hard line is fixed position but the lower one can be played around with by moving it up or down a little using those rubber hose couplers. Another thing is, you can take the oil filter off and back that BIG oil cooler nut off a turn or so and re-clock the cooler and retighten it.

And do youself another big favor and stud and nut the engine side of the turbo mounting bracket (shepards hook). If I recal it's 3/8-16.

And like ....holy shit!!!! this thread is 9 pages long!!
