Take a look at the rear seats (TTA/notchback style), boost gauge in there, underside have the TTA intercooler scoop, TTA transmission cross member and the TTA dual tip exhaust! Talk about Re-use! So to make a hardtop TTA would not be too difficult.

I told them all of those things were different except for the crossmember and exhaust tips. I tried to make sure that any changes that I mentioned for the TTA were made. The newest project manager was trying to tell me it was too late to make a couple changes on the TTA that I told him were crucial, so I went to the guy who originally started the project which I believe is his boss now (not exactly positive how they have it) and let him know how important it was that the changes be made.

How is the interior? That was one of the major problem areas with the correct shades of grey in the right areas.
 
I've heard they WILL produce a hardtop version TTA, but it WILL NOT have the INDY 500 pace car decals on it......Stay tuned.....

Once they're made they're made, I highly doubt there will be any additional runs because the cost of start up would be too high.

Really I can't see how it would be so costly--They'd be using parts from 2 preexisting models (the hardtop GTA body and all the rest of the stuff from the current TTA, the white paint they already have for the TTA and several other models they make, and the decals would cost less since the Indy 500 pace car decals will not be on it. It would be cool though if they included the pace car decals in the box with it though, just like the real deal back in '89.) I wouldn't mind having more than one variation of TTA model; just didn't want a gold plated one (they're cool but just not for me--I prefer to stick with finishes that were actually found on the original cars for my model collection.)

Remember stuff made in China and not their own manufacturing plant probably so you order once they setup the production line and train the people (always new people for each run of the product) then they produce whatever numbers been ordered .... lots of scrap usually until full production is up and running and people fully trained ... been there done that so know how it all works and costs associated with it.

Just got off the phone with 1 stop die cast. They got them in today, and mine shippes out tomorrow. I cant believe this thread started 7 years ago.

yeah but the start of this thread was about another company. Greenlight took it on themselves to make the TTA, they weren't asked by an enthusiast, they just specialize in pace cars and indy cars.

I can't wait to see them. I asked my mom to give me a call whenever she gets my white one(s) and if no one has received theirs yet she said she'd take some pictures. I got the gold one coming to NY so I can get a good look in person before the end of Nov haha.

Lets hope they made some changes and listened to my suggestions :chair:

Are your wheels blacked out in the center or is that just the lighting playing tricks on me in your sig pic? I never thought I'd see a TTA with that done; it really looks sharp. Heck, TTAs look awesome anyway. Hoping to have one parked next to my GN in the garage one day. Anyway, it's cool to see one with that subtle and tasteful custom touch.:thumbup: The tinted windows look great too. Sorry 'bout the off topic post...

Supercar1.com went from saying it was "in stock" to "This product is expected to be in stock approximately Thursday 18 September, 2008."

Maybe that means they shipped out all they had and have to wait for more???

JST A 6, nah its just lighting and sofware. They are gold and about the only custom stuff on my TTA is when it has the bra and rear window visor.

captainsin, Good to hear 1stopdiecast got them, hope to get mine soon then.

I got the Gold TTA from minimuscle, they are saying ETA 10/20/2008.
 
I just got a confirmation e-mail from http://www.supercar1.com/index.php That my cars have shipped! I'm getting scared because I didn't even remember ordering from them! I have a feeling I'm going to have about 40 of these cars showing up on my doorstep!! lol Anyways.. They are the first one to e-mail me and say they are on the way! :)

I just got off of the phone with DieCastmuscle.com and the white pace car is shipping next week. I ordered a gold one from minimuscle.com, not sure when those are shipping. Yippy Yi-Yeah!!:toot::toot: Why do the GTA's cost more than the pace cars?
 
They are more because they know they can get more! I'm sure if they don't sell out they will be 30 bucks on ebay before you know it!
 
I also got the email from supercar1.com saying it shipped today.:clap:

Glad I managed to get one of these preordered; looks like all the rest of them are going to PhillyTurboSix!!!
 
LOL not all of them just most! I just wanna make sure I get my car number and hopefully I'll get some that other board members are looking for so we can play the swap game for awhille. And if I get anything over car number 1550 I'll need one for the desk at work and one for the desk at home :D After that I'm having a ebay sale!
