Power Antenna

Powdercoating is a good idea, as long as that plastic insert can come out. I think they have to bake it after the coating goes on. Did you remove the insert when you had yours done?
Kman - check out Modern Day Muscle for the seat belts. I believe Mike TTA984 just picked up a set from them.

You do have to bake the powder in high temp, the nut is just metal so no plastic insert in any of the ones I've done, just the plastic bezel between fender and nut that you remove.

But yes they do come out really nice and will last forever, mine looks brand new.

Just make sure they don't put too thick of a layer on there.
 
If you have the attena bezel and nut - the complete kit I would love to but it from you. Please let me know if you have the complete package and how much. Thanks. Lynn

Jan - I have to go out and check on my car but the pic of the nut that Robert posted looks like there is some sort of anti-wear sleeve in the middle of it.

there is a plastic sleeve in it jan, dont know if it would come out without breaking DontKnow:

I have to look at mine and I did another spare one at the same time however that was like 7 years ago so can't remember .. but if it had been plastic it would have melted that's for sure ... I'll have a look and let you know.
 
Modern muscle has the front seatbelt receivers in beachwood and they also sell the black power antenna nut, time to order some more parts to the puzzle.

This is a longshot, but looking for a dash pad from 82-84 car. Its the one with the lines in the front (not rounded like 85 and after).

Looked at mine and yes there is a sleeve in there of some sort, don't seem to come out and it did not melt or deform when I had mine powder coated so must be something else besides plastic ... whatever it is it withstands some serious temperature ... Normally the powders cure at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes ...
 
Hi Kymme ... sorry no dash pads in the bunch ... I have boxes of stuff and some body stuff for both 82-92 plus 90-92 ... some pretty neat stuff ... I'll take pictures and see if anyone needs any of it. It'll be reasonable prices I promise.
 
I have 89-92 formulas.. I need NOS front bumpers for both 89-90 and 91-2..
also many other things let the pix fly !!
 
I'm just leaving the office ... first I've got to explain to my wife why I have all these boxes and some body parts! lololol

Then I'll snap some pictures and put them on here before going to ebay ...

And if someone has a power antenna nut to sell (or give!) it would be greatly appreciated so I can install the new antenna.

Anyone?????

Those are a tad pricy on the dash pads IMO.. keep looking you'll find em for 100$ or so..
I get most of mine for that price or less..

Dash pads from 85 and up are very common-not so for 82-84. Most are already cracked-I heard that after 84 they improved the composite material to make it more heat resistant. Most people advertise them to fit 82-92, but in reality 82-84 are different than 85 and up. Trying to keep the car stock original. It took me a year to find one for my 82 base car.

??? and no one wants to sell me a power antenna nut? I sent Modern Muscle payment for his through PayPal but haven't heard back. He sells a boatload of NOS parts on ebay so I assume he's legit. Maybe he's on vacation? I hope to hear back soon and if I do I'll have a few to have for backup as well.

Oh yeah Kymme ... I did receive in my parts for an '84 car a rear compartment panel in awesome shape with the insulation behind it in perfect shape too. I also received a rear quarter interior panel ...

I understand the rear compartment panel is rare ... but it may be for a Camaro? All the other parts were from TA's except those two. I'll take pics this weekend and post them if you're interested.

I ordered them immediately but as I said I have yet to hear from him and I payed by paypal immediately.

I guess I'll wait until I hear from him unless I find it somewhere else. The ones on ebay are chrome and not plastic.
