any info on car 516 going to look at it tomorrow....
VIN should enb with 239937; if currnet owner got the PHS documentation to confirm the build number let me know also if you can make a note of the build dates printed on the driver side door PAS sticker (two dates one for the GM build and another for the PAS build) along wihtt he number on the upper radiator support rivited id plate (something like 07-1234) would be great.
I got a note that John Mecum Jr. owned it at some point early in its life ...
45,600 miles as of July last year located in Ridgewood, NJ

It does end in that Vin. Can you tell where I can check to see the body markings are correct. The owner has the owners kit isthere a number in the kit that will be assigned to that car? And who is John mecum Jr? Thanks Pete

For any body markings as long as all the VIN decals say 1G5 and match the one under the windscreen (driver side) you are ok ... VIN decals you find under the rear bumper (on the impact bar), inside each rear quarter panel (if you remove the spare tire you should see one on that side), under the hood, the rear hatch, each front fender (look straight out from where the battery and airfilter canister sit and you should see them, on the front bumper impact bar and if you look straight dwon from the passanger side "frog eye" light you might see it ...

Will there be any markings on the owners kit? What exactly was included also where do I get the Pontiac windshield sticker from?
No markings on the ownerskit ... and none of the documentation (unless from Pontiac Historic Services or PAS directly) would have the build number as this is really just a made up number from the VIN sequnce number of all 1550 TTAs
The ownerskit got a number of bits and pieces in there: Keyring, cassette tape, door and windshield stickers/decals, ownersmanual pouch. Scroll down on my page My 1989 Turbo Trans Am Indy 500 Pace Car #1078, Collector Items and you will see mine and the individual bits.
Phoneix Graphics is the only source I know of for the windshield banner ... $75USD or so ... they only list the complete kit so you have to ask to buy just the windshield one.
Thanks Rob, did you get the build number confirmed by PHS? And yes if you can send me the photo (email [email protected]) and any other photos / details you might have I'll store them in a folder for that VIN for any future reference.
Lots of work with this and still got tons of data, after merging a number of sources, to clean up ... but getting there slowly
I got my build number from John Pearcy. Also got it from Russ' old site. Ok guys, I have VIN# 1G5FW2175KL228388. Was told it was around the 140's as far as car number. Can anyone verify this for me or point me in the direction of where I can find the info?

Contact me please. I have come across your original window sticker for #1429 = KL248052. I sent an PM to you as well. Original owner was from Granite City, IL and they came across the original owners kit with window sticker in it. Window sticker is free to you.
