Pressurized
Well I finally picked up TTA 903 in Austria today, so I figured it's time to introduce myself.
I've been stationed in Germany for a while now with the Air Force. I'm 40 married and have two girls (they love the TTA). I "accidently" stumbled on one of the only few TTA's in Europe. Having owned #1291 years ago (regreted selling)....I had to have #903!:WOOT: The price was fair and the condition is overall really good.
There are some things I don't remember my old TTA doing though that this one is doing...
1. Idle's like crap...around 800 (Had a chip to smooth idle in old one)
2. In Drive rpm's seem to move me 10-15 mph with no pedal input.
3. MPG is around 10-12  STOCK! NO MODS! (old one got 16-18mpg)
4. Even when cruising anywhere over 2,000rpm the turbo sounds like it's beginning to spool ( 0 psi showing on gauge)
5. Around 75mph I get wicked vibration in the seat. (Tires look new, but car sat alot).
Ok...so is my memory of the car just blurry or are there some valid problems for me to work on?

Had mine since new, idled like crap until I got a TurboTweak chip. The IAC sensors go bad sometimes and can also cause weird or searching idle, I had to replace mine last summer. They'll sound like they are spooling if you have any exhaust leaks, even a wee little one. If it's running without pedal input, maybe your tv cable needs to be adjusted. Post some pics.

Would that be Maths TTA you bought? There's about 15 TTA's in Europe, most of them up in Sweden actually.

Hello and welcome to the board and TTA world again! You'll have to team up with Jan is the the TTA king on the other side of the pond! :) I'll try to help with some of your issues...

1. Idle's like crap...around 800 (Had a chip to smooth idle in old one)
Try turbotweak chip like sverble stated. One of the best chips out there. His banner and info fly on this board just look out for it. Eric takes care of us TTA guys for sure!

2. In Drive rpm's seem to move me 10-15 mph with no pedal input.
This could be a TPS issue. Get a scantool like a ScanMaster and start checking all your base and WOT settings.

3. MPG is around 10-12  STOCK! NO MODS! (old one got 16-18mpg)
If you have your foot into the boost this could be you! :) If not may be a fuel pump issue. Also could be the injectors need a good cleaning if not replace them.

4. Even when cruising anywhere over 2,000rpm the turbo sounds like it's beginning to spool ( 0 psi showing on gauge)
You may also have a boost solenoid issue or some vacuum problems. The stock boost gages were known to be problematic. Might want to buy an aftermarket boost gage and hook it up just to see where your at. Could be a wastegate issue as well.

5. Around 75mph I get wicked vibration in the seat. (Tires look new, but car sat alot).
This could be a bent rim or broken belts in the tire(s) I would think a rim issue. Maybe switch sides with them and see if anything changed. Might even be some wheel weights fell off and they need to be rebalanced.

So get to work post some pics and report back to us!:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Wow!!! Thanks for all the quick input! I'll get to work and repost some of the solutions. The car does have a scanmaster installed. The values all seem normal except MAF only getting up to 240 at WOT. Knock retard at WOT anywhere from 0 to 2-3. IAC at idle about 10. TPS .46 at idle.
Update on the vibration...this morning it was terrible for the first 10-15min even at low speed 20-30mph...the best I can describe is that it feels as if the tires were made of hard plastic instead of rubber.

I'll post some pics soon. The car has some interesting oddities. It was delivered to Switzerland back in 1990 through a import company (I assume new). The PHS and Carfax has no other actual owners(other than dealership) in the States. The speedometer is in km/h. The headlights are European style, but don't look retrofitted (looks original). Matthias from Austria (forum member) was the last owner. I'll try to locate the prior owners from Switzerland to get more history.

Well...the first problem solved was the vibration. The tires had 40psi in themDontKnow:. I guessing maybe because it was stored more was put in? I corrected and it made a huge difference.
...off to the next problem...
