Indy Decals Like Them or Not?

Thought I would throw out the question. I am on the fence whether to install decals or not. I hear some members claim they are not properly recognized at cruise nights, shows, etc. The decals would somewhat help with being confused as a run of the mill third gen TA. I think they look good and are an appealing size.

That being said, does someone have the measurements on where they are placed on the door. If they are like the Indy Wings and Turbo Emblems they are probably different from side to side and car to car.

As many of our cars will one day be getting new paint and a fresh windshield it will be a question for many owners.

Is the front glass decal available, I see the door decals on Ebay off and on, but I don't recall seeing this one?

I like the car both with and without...and yes I think they are more appreciated at car shows and have experienced it 1st hand. I have a complete set that I go back and forth on installing them. The only GM authorized distributor currently is Phoenix Graphix...they list it as a complete kit but will sell the door and windshield decals separately. I have all of the decals/badges on mine and I really like the look. It came without the windshield graphic. I bought the one from Phoenix Graphix and I am very happy with the quality. One of the guys in the local Corvette club has one each of all of the Corvette pace cars. Some of them are a little to bold for me, I like the understated looks of the TTA even with the decals installed.
 
The only thing I dislike is the stupid comments that people make with them on like "oh official race car" and "did that car race at indy".

Just once I'd like to have someone realize what it is rather than what its not
 
Despite the stupidity from others I think the decals should be on it, its just part of the legend of the car.

Just last night I took one of my friends out for a ride in it and hes telling me how he knows this guy with a turbo trans am thats black and has a blow through carb. After correcting him on a number of inconsistencies finally he realized that it was a 80-81.
 
When I first started looking for my TTA, I didn't want them on the car, just part of the kit. But after buying my TTA, witch already had them all on, it grew on me & now I really like them on the car. It does help seperate it from other white 89" GTA's at the shows.
 
I didnt like them at first because my first car didnt have them. After buying the second car i put the decals on the door the windsheild banner was already on. I like them now I think im going to put them on the other car too.
 
My hard top has them and my other three cars don't but I am thinking of putting them on my high milage tta with tops cause I think they would be cool to drive around with them on the car.

I have the pheonix grachics decals to use cause I don't wanna use the decals from the owners kit. They are not exactly the same though, the font is different so I am not sure if I really want to.
 
no the pheonic graphics ones I got have a different font, the ends of the 3 in 73 are curved toward the middle and they are not on the original.
 
Saw this one on ebay. The bottom font isn't correct, but the top one looks pretty close. You could probably use the top part and then have a graphics place mimic the bottom font.

I bought a set of those E-bay door decals....NOT EVEN EFFIN' CLOSE!

I have my complete Phoenix Graphix set sitting right here in front of me and it is exactly like the factory one pictured above. Just took it out of the tube it was shipped in from Phoenix Graphix. It was my understanding that Phoenix was the only GM authorized dealer of the correct graphics. John's Performance had the door decals and mini versions for the door handles a few years ago but they are long gone. I did get one of John's mini door decals that goes in the door handle that is pretty cool.
 
I still have the original (I assume) decals on my doors and despite getting the occasional "official race car" from people who can't read, I like them a lot. They set the car apart from other 3rd gens, visually.
