Best Oil /Filter combo?

Ive got rotella in my built TTA for break in .... My other 2 LC2 cars have 10W30 Royal Purple lots and lots of dragstrip passes and miles on stock cam stock long block car only runs 11.60's so its a turtle i guess faster cars are the whiped cam cars your speaking of.
 
By the Mobil-1 engine oil sheet, would the 15w-50 with 1300ppm zinc level, be enuff protection? On the GN sites seems like alot lot of members use this weight (along with other weights/brands of corse). It says the 15w-50 is a "Boosted higher viscosity, full synthetic formula designed for performance vehicles" HT/HS applications,racing/flat tappet appliacations also. Any thoughts?
 
I personally would never run a 15w-50. I have awesome oil pressure as is and do not think raising the viscosity is good. Just like a bandaid. But thats just one kids opinion.

Just to update...I sent off my TTA's oil to Blackstone labs. 200 miles on the oil and 8 track passes. I'll be sure to post the findings! The trucks (Mobil 1 extended) will be sent off next monday after I change it.

well i got the mobile 1 filter i think its m1-302 i belive it was whatever was listed in the book for 3.8 turbo for 89 TTA

im going to try to do the Brad Penn oil, where do you get the stuff at?
 
That ZDDplus crap is just a Kirban marketing scam. Use Royal Purple, Brad Penn, Or whatever brand you like and use the RED bottle of the STP. All works just as well if not better then that ZZDplus. Using a good oil and changing it often works best.
 
I'd love to send off ZDDP and the STP stuff to an independant lab...my guess is that they are 99.9999999999999% identical..
 
One bottle of the RED STP and I think it's 5 quarts or 5.5 or something with that big filter they have. I try to keep it in the middle of the hash marks.
