Front mount vs stretched SL vs stock with nos sprayer?

Wouldn't the nos intercooler sprayer cool the charge just as much as a front mount? Or how about stock location stretched? Or the front mount? Which would be a pain.

I don't think anyone has done a comparison with actual dyno numbers and a test car with only these variables. Without a test such as this you can only speculate.

I think outcome will be very close. and with the now i wont have to run all that piping and mount it. and i would cut a slit in my nose for max air flow... not worth it nos will b easier.

the tony dequick frontmount isn't hard to install at all just requires 2 holes on the front metal panel where the hood latch is attatched. I have a huge fan on the back of mine with a switch to pull air through it ... ive never seen a set up like mine but if I can do it anyone can lol

I think for the TTA the easiest option is a DUTT neck and alky injection. I went 125+ MPH in a stock longblock with that set up. Did it 3 runs in a row in 85 degrees out. Waited about an hour between each run though.

I have a front mount IC,check it out

X2

I agree. Also, I would port the neck (take the lip off) the dutt neck with a dremmel tool. Alky injection...

Save your money for a really good set of heads Paul. That's where the power's made.

I have just installed the tony dequick front mount intercooler however have not driven the car yet so I can't comment. I'd say from experience they get better on the following order
Stock, dutt neck, Jim Dunn, then big big front mount.
I will post my results of the TOny dequick when I have some, however I am changing so much each summer that it is not a reliable evaluation.

I can say that when you go from dutt neck to Jim Dunn the boost increase 4psi (with 3" up pipe) because the Jim Dunn ic is that less restrictive.
I'm sure it's even more starting with a stock ic.

What were your IAT's with Jim Dunn's compared to Dutt. neck?

My idle air temp gauge was placed in the air filter with both intercoolers, so I would not see a difference. I did not move the iac sensor until I went with a speed density chip, and that was with th Jim Dunn ic, and I don't recall my temps.

I went from stocker to Jim Dunn's. Never used a Dutt neck... Was curious on the air inlet temp's between the Dutt/Dunn because I knew you were running SD. So I knew your sensor was placed in the up pipe after alky nozzle.
Thanks

Joe

Yes power logger is needed but for racing that is a great tool to have anyway.
The instructions tell you where to place the air temp sensor mine was in the up pipe.
Street cruising does not need SD in my opinion but it's great for racing.
