I am looking for an '89 TTA hardtop, mileage below 20K, pristine condition, bone stock, prefer leather. Will travel within the lower 48 for right car.

Hi! New here. I have the car you're looking for. 34 miles. Yep, 34 actual miles, bone stock, original owner. Heated storage, original plastic on interior. Not cheap. Not even close to cheap. Make offer.

The post said "make offer", but it won't go cheap. I bought the car in May of 89 and trailered it straight to a climate controlled storage facility. I put it up on jacks (on the frame so as to relieve any fatique on the suspension) and have it covered. It is started on occasion to keep things lubed (hence the 34 miles - the odometer turns if the wheels turn).

"Not cheap,Make Offer"...really??... that doesn't even make sense. You must know what you want for it. We're all adults here. Just post a price.
 
Dave, it is a leather car. Based on the VIN, I fiqure the car # is between 1152 - 1200. I haven't contacted PHS due to the controversy of whether their info is correct or guessing based on VIN sequence #.

WS6, don't be so snarly. You might scare off a new member.

There is a website, (Google "Tom's Inflation Calculator") and you can punch in the sticker of the car ($31,300+) and the year, 1989 and it will calculate what the dollars are in todays dollars. ($54,00+). I'm not saying the car is worth that much but if someone were to wave $40,000 in my face I would have to seriously consider it.

It's just like anything else, it's worth what someone's willing to pay for it. If you can find the right person, I think you could get 40K for it pretty easily.
 
Snarly?? maybe so. But the reply reads evasive and is ripe for a bad thread if someone were to offer what you felt was a ridiculous offer and then started a debate as to what your car is worth in todays market.

That's when the snarly replies really get going.

It's my opinion, and I may be alone, that posting a price for a car is always the way to start off a classified ad.

But that is all academic now that you have put a starting price to your TTA.

Good luck with the sale, I think $40,000 for it is a good buy for the buyer. The only downside to the car is its 34 miles, don't get me wrong thats not a bad thing. Its just at this point to would be a sin to drive it now. However, if you decide to let it go, please let me know.

40K is a very fair price for it. Wish I had the money laying around I'd love to add it to my garage! Sounds like a car that needs a rich owner! Not like me! lol A car like that should continue it's life just as you have kept it. Pampered all the way and a piece of history. Maybe toss it on ebay and see what happens. I think you might get your number for sure on there with nice large clean pics of the car. Good luck with the sale!
 
I think $40k is an excellent price for a hardtop with 34 miles. Good luck with the sale. How did you resist the temptation to drive it for all those years? I figure you must have another one.
 
I actually know of a car with less than 30 miles also. Seen it with my own 2 eyes. He might be selling that car soon from what i'm told. I was wondering why did you buy the car if you never drove it?? Was it an investment?( bad return if it was) The car is such a blast to drive, i just can not figure out how you could resist!!! Someday if i come up with some money, i would love to buy a car like that so i could drive it! It would be like having a new 07 TTA!! To all who have been sending PM's: for some reason I can't respond to them. Some people are telling me all they get is their original message back. Maybe because I'm new to the forum?

Anyway, I'm going to take the car off the market. I'm finding it is worth more than I expected so I'll hold it awhile longer.

As to why I never drove it, yes it was an investment of sorts. I also have a few other nice cars - 87 GTA with 34,000 miles; a 79 Trans Am with 403 big block; an 87 S10 tricked out with a balanced and blueprinted 350 from GM's Tech Center; and my fav, a junker 92 Chevy pickup that's my daily driver. DH has a 96 Ford cargo 3/4T van with 4WD installed for the heavy hauling and a 64 Impala set up for the drag strip (yeah, a boat).

Good for you SS, you have a rare one with ultra low mileage. She should make you happy one day $$$$$$. I'll be sleeping with one eye open for the day when you sell her. Please post some pics when you have time.
