Wrong Wheel On Front And Back

I went to a car show today at Orange Park Fl. Had the TTA there, and some guy was looking it over really good.

He found that on the driver side the front wheel was mounted on the back, and the back wheel was mounted on the front.

I should have checked this, but I had new tires put on last year and I thought they knew what they were doing, well they did'nt know the front wheel has a larger inner lip towards the gold center.

I will take it to the tire place tomorrow and get them changed around.

I wonder how many TTA's that have the wrong wheel in the wrong location.:beach:
 
Dont you hate when that happens?? Someone at a show brings up something wrong about your car?? In your case though, it was more than something cosmetic. I was at a show once and some guy asked me if I could accept criticism. He told me my body side molding was mounted too low on the door. Its below the door crease, not on it. Dont know how many of you noticed this at the reunion, but no one said anything. I wasnt upset, but really never noticed it till he brought it up. What a debbie downer moment.:thumbdwn:
 
I took mine to the local tire shop suggesting to him to rotate the tires because I didnt think they were correct and he tells me they were fine.

I believe that on the inside of the wheel it actually lists that the wheel is for the front and the rear.

The wheels haven't been rotated yet.

If the correct tire is where it is supposed to be. The only way you can rotate them and that is to take the tire off the rim.

Oh...we ALL noticed!!! in fact we had a super secret meeting about it to decide if we should let you into our "He-man Woman-haters club":dirol:


Kidding aside...my response to these dolts who do that at the show is to ask where thier car is so we can go pick it apart.

Usually they have driven there in thier 1986 Dodge K-car station wagon (yes,with woodgrain sides) and have never owned something worth more than thier monthly access card allotment.
 
I was the Trans Am Nationals last week and the "Tech" person suggested my stock TTA wheel rims were too "shiny". How is this possible, are they not clear coated coming from GM?

Yeah, I have a pretty thick skin, so I can hang with the best of them. I decided it would be a good way to find "my car" amongst all the TTA's. Hey its the one with the F-ed up body side molding! lol

i have a small dent on the drivers side fender, thats how i located my car the whole time i was there! :clap:
 
Changed them around myself. They are clearly marked for rear use only or for front use only.

This goes to show when you get new tires, you better look at your rims closely and make sure they are correct.:idea5:

As far as driving goes, this is the tightest old car, it has very little rattles and squeaks generally associated with these unibody cars.

The guy that did my engine work was really inpressed with the way it drove and handled, this is one reason I like it so well.:cheers:

yeah they are not that bad, i still have rattling on the exhaust, annoying as hell. just got the alky pump mounted under the batt tray, it was waaaay too easy :D
