Windshield Washer Bottle & Pump

TTA #345 had a pretty extensive drag racing history before it was almost returned to stock and eventually made its way to California. Alot of engine components were removed (weight & space savings?) and not all of them made it back onto the car before I bought it

I've had the car almost 3 weeks now and my latest chore is to re-install the missing windshield washer bottle / pump and re-place the 9" K&N filter with something smaller

I bought a used windshield washer bottle on ebay and it came with the pump mounted to the bottle

My question:

On the TTA, did the windshield washer pump come mounted to the bottle or was it bulkhead mounted somewhere else?

Where on the engine wiring harness is the connector for the washer pump located?

Once I move the K&N filter out of the way, the bottle mounts right up to the holes on the fenderwell

I have enough rubber hose from the pump to get to the engine bay bulkhead where it will attach to the sprayers

I've looked & looked for a 2 wire connector to plug into the pump but it is either missing, cut off, or I'm just a blind old b**tard who can't seem to find its hiding place

Worst case I'll wire it into a momentary switch, but I'd really like to hook it back where it belongs

Any advice?

Yep the washerpump is mounted on the bottle (this changed for the 88 modle year).

The two pin connector / wire is coming from the same place as the MAF and canister connectors as well as the cruise control connector so look in the area just infornt of the canister and or where the hard fuel lines come up on the frame.

I can check for the color of the connector and snap a photo if you need it just let me know

I will dive back in this weekend and look extra hard for the connector when I remove the intercooler for spring cleaning

It will be nice to get everything working again

Then I won't have to drive down the street with a Windex bottle trying to spray the windows with one hand while I'm driving with the other...lol

I had to unwrap the tape on the wiring harness but I finally found 2 wires that had been cut. Everyother wire was intact & led to a connector except for these 2, and since the washer pump used a 2 wire connector I figured I would check it out. I attached a set of jumper wires to the 2 cut wires, powered it up, hit the switch, and sure enough washer fluid sprayed out right where it was suppossed to.

Another problem fixed,

Now its on to finding a spare tire & jack assembly

One of the best items I bought when I had my GN & GNX was a weatherpack connector set. It has multiples of all the single, double, triple & 4 pin connectors used on the turbo engine wiring harness, along with male & female pins, rubber gromets and a dis-assembly tool. I made up a 2 pin male connector in about 5 minutes and it slid right on in on the washer motor.

Ray, glad you got it sorted. Yep got some of those kits as well and I also picked up a punch of connectors when getting parts at the junk yards (in the US) to keep as spare just in case.
