I was just reading the about the new Vette code name "Blue Devil" which I believe will come out late next year. Apparently it has a "Limted Edition" 650 hp Supercharged monster. It has got to be a mid to high 10 second stock street car. You can appartenly get a stage 1? or two upgrade 2? upgrade from the factory which boosts power to even more obnoxious levels. The way these cars (IE. Vette, Viper, Cobra) are going, they will have 1000 hp stock in less than 5 years. Until recently most sport cars that had 400 hp were considered amazing, now they are considered dogs!!!! They are going to have to install roll cages in these cars because they wont be aloud at the track. What is the fun of bringing your car to the track like so many owners do if you cant give it full throttle? Also, I know a car is only as dangerous as the driver, but I find it hard too believe cars of this power are not going to be in more accidents because inexperienced drivers. I wish there could be a limit on the amount of hp car makers could build. What do you guys think?

Well, so much for keeping up with the latest Corvette, the good ol days of rolling up on any vette and rippin them a new one is over for me anyway.
(I raced a ZR-1 back in 1992, I was a young gun of 20 years old, opened up stock downpipe and that's it yall, beat him too) After the last set of mods gets tuned. I'm done. Just gonna go to car shows and drive the car like an old man...well, I still have heads, cam, looser convertor and a 70 turbo I could go move up to. haha. Na, really TurboJoe has a point, buy one that someone else took the initial hit on, I'll never buy new. I'm for more power always, I can't believe that the government hasn't stepped in yet, I mean oil supplies and costs are worse now than in the 70's when all sports cars got lucky to have 200 ponies. I don't like limits though,
Remember that in 1989 (ironic maybe???) that was I belive the last year for Indy cars to allow turbos, Guirrero I think set a record with a buick powered 6, 231 mph (231...again ironic, I also may be terribly wrong) Anyway, that motor was real close to what we have, so anyway that was it for Buick in Indy racing...Nascar should let those rednecks run Top fuel motors just to see the slaughter, I kid...They aren't rednecks, I'm a bit of hillbilly myself..look at my cartoon sig haha. But really I like the idea of more power. Let Nick Hogen get one and get behind the wheel and give us pesents a run-down of what it will do, well, he may only know how to do donuts though.:cowboy:

If you don't like it, don't buy it...
Conversely, it is more likely that they'll mandate 20 mpg minimums before they ever attempt to regulate horsepower...
