Hi all,
I've been watching the Daytona 500's for years now, including taping them on VHS. I still can't believe what happened this year! I was never a Dale Earnhart fan, but boy, did I cheer for him when he finally won one! Now, along with millions of others, I wept when I heard the news. Watching the race, seeing it happen, I turned to my girlfriend, and said to her: "Man, I hope he didn't break his neck". Although it didn't look bad in slow motion, at 180 mph straight into the wall, not many survive! When no cameras were showing anything, I thought it strange. Then, I heard they had to cut him out! It wasn't until latter that night, I heard the news.
Nascar has lost a legend!!!
My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family and all their friends!!!!!
I will miss Dale Earnhart!!!!!

It seems that both of my favourite race car drivers have had their lives cut short:
Greg Moore
Dale Earnhart
Both have lost their lives in tragic accidents while racing! It is still hard to understand that they are gone, their days of
glory are over, but I will never forget them! Mr. Earnhart has earned my respect for him as a Nascar driver time and time again. I will never forget watching him do what he did best. It is a sad time for all Nascar fans around the world.

maybe thats why we always lose the best because they are always pushing it to the limit and sometimes u go to far and u cant regain and u dont make it but at least he died doing what he loves not in a hospital bed with cancer suffering
Hi all,
I still can't believe that Adam Petty is gone too! And just starting out at that age! I still feel sad for the Petty family. Who knows, even with all the great drivers leaving us, maybe NASCAR will start putting in air bags. I know one thing, I want to keep seeing all these guys race! Year after year!!
I don't want NASCAR to disappear with all the drivers dying in crashes!
