Value of 11k mile TTA w/Stage 2 engine???

I bet there are more stock tta's of any milage than there are fully built stage2 tta's. I like the modded cars cause I like to drive fast.

For me its about speed, pure and simple. If I have a performance car I want it to be stupid fast. I have a mid-9sec Evo, a mid-7sec twin turbo Mustang, and now a ?-sec TTA... I'll get it to the track soon to find out just how fast it really is. It makes big power though... right at 1000rwhp on a Mustang dyno.

The car is not worth $50k. A modded car will never be truly valued though either.

To me, it is worth more than a stock one. To others that is blasphemy.

Well, I like modded cars, that's why I finally broke down and purchased this one.

Do you have a link to that other board where this was discussed?

BTW, that's quite a different opinion than the one guy earlier in this thread who actually said the car was worth maybe $16k....lol

Sorry I can't remember; you might check MAGNABUICK.com - it might have been there with a link to TURBOBUICK.com or TURBOBUICKS.com.

Exactly why someone asked the value for opinions. I stick by my $50k, if it is truly built and all the bells and whistles. It would cost you more to build one than $50K.

I do have a totally stock TTA with 6k but a built stage 2 TTA (based on today's values) is worth more IMO.

I also have a Stage 2 Buick - so I am familiar with that song and dance.

Nice to see that others agree you never get out what you put in them.

Sounds like you have a couple of nice cars. How fast is that stage2 buick?

Wouldn't we like to know. Its built for 8's but we keep playing with the body shop on the custom sheet metal. Its been a long 12 + year process from when we first purchased the block and heads back in 1998.

I keep saying on of these years. Maybe next year will be the one.

1. Market sucks currently
2. A unmodified TTA will always bring more $$$ ...
3. ... Once they have over 3K, it's the same as one with 30K miles.

In agree the Market does suck! Stockers always bring more money. It is really more about what it is worth to you. I would certainly make a low offer and mention the fact that it is not original.

Now Cars over 3K miles are the same as 30K cars? Wow that is a new one!

Watch e-bay. What TTA's gets bids, what reaches the reserve and actually sells.

Went to school with 2 guys who both just bought TTA's month or so ago.
One got a 3k mile car for $16K, the other I believe is a 40K mile car and I think he paid $13K. I think it's reflective of current economy, maybe in a different economy the low mile cars would bring what we "feel" thay are worth.

Wasn't the 3K mile car the one that needed work? Head gasket?

I agree the current economy has hurt prices but these cars are still worth more than they were 10 years ago. They will come back..

Yes, He has since fixed it. He ran through the cat on pump gas with turbo tweak street chip and street tires went 13.20. Uncapped it and it went 12.97.

I was off on the Mileage, it has 5k, not 3k. It's a nice example of a really close to stock, low mile car. I think he got a good deal on price.

Better economy it would have brought closer to $18,500 IMO Looks good in the pics I saw. Hope to see the car at BG this October.

I agree, in 10 years when more people become aware of uniqueness the TTA prices will increase.

Here is a link to pics and ebay listing.

Honestly. That is not the cleanest 5k car I've ever seen (judging by the picturesDontKnow:), and you factor in the overheating concern. I can see why it only went for $16,700.

Glad it turned out to only be a head gasket and not something stupid. I still think it was a great deal, but I can see why it didn't go for more with it not running properly and not a clear answer why.

I paid 17,500 for my 34k mile all stock every$hit car abt 5 yrs ago so you can see how the prices went down the toilet . But I bought the car cause i wanted it not to make money so.

and I know I have WAY more than 17k in my beater !

That's right it was a very rough low mileage car with it's cracked rear spoiler and over heat problem. That would have driven the price down.

I agree prices are soft, but they are not as low as they were 10 years ago when I picked up my Festival Car. They will come back. We saw a big hit on Collector car prices around 89/90.

1000 rwhp on a 2004r? That will not last long.

Does a stage II motor fit without modifying the heater/AC box?
What is used for a downpipe?
If the car was hacked up to fit it in, I would think it could lower its value.

Oh god, this makes me wanna cry... I would have gladly bought that car, I spent $15,500 buying a mostly stock TTA with 40,xxx miles on it and then many thousands more building it up. OF course the market is much worse now... Ah well, such is life.

Well, the car only has 11k miles on it so it hasn't been driven much and it hasn't been driven EVER at that power level. It made the big number on the dyno but the original owner dialed it back to about 700rwhp... and this is on only 15lbs of boost, BTW.

Additionally, if you talk to Rossler (who built this trans) it has billet hardparts through out and was built to handle 1k power levels. He told me they put this trans in turbo vipers because it fits in the trans tunnel with no modifications and will handle the power.

Its been done before. the stage 2 will fit without tearing the car up. All u need is to take the big ac box out with a/c an put a heater only box back in the car. Then u will need a set of custom headers and DP.

Grumpy had this setup in a low mile car.

Car still has A/C. Headers are hand-built 321 stainless as is the downpipe. Turbo is Turbonetics Y2K 88mm.
