hey guys, I'm proud to say my t-top TTA will be in an upcoming issue of High Perf. Pontiac. I attended the Pontiac Southern Nationals on June 9-10 with TTA #1002 and was invited to stay over on the 11th for a shootout they were doing at the Texas Motorplex. They had 18 cars they were working with including mine which will make for 3 shootouts of 6 cars. Actually they are not head to head battles, more like multiple features in one article. My group consisted of a 70 GTO, 69 T/A, 2001 10th anniversary Firehawk, 71 T/A 455HO and a 60 Royal Pontiac Catalina. they did the group photo with my TTA in front and the group of cars along mine in a line with the catalina across our noses perpendicular to our cars. It was a great shot which I bet will make the cover. I ended up running a 13.04, 12.97, 12.94 and 12.85@109 in the 95 degree heat which was very pleasing since my best to date was a 12.82@107 in 40 degree weather. I'd been chasing a boost problem for a couple years off and on and stumbled across the turbo coming apart and had a rebuilt stocker I put back on. My 60's went from 1.8s and 1.9's to 2.0's and 2.1's which I later attributed to going from a 245 GSC to the 255 BFG drag radials. If I were planning to race the car a lot in the future I thought about putting the 3.42 drum rear I have in it with a posi and some little bitty slicks to get the car moving quicker but my dad and I are building a 70 firebird for 1/4 mile duty so I'll probably end up just keeping the TTA for an occasional stang spanking and the buick vs. ford shootout our club has. Just figured I'd let everyone know about the magazine so keep your eyes open!
