It took me all of 5 minutes to read up on some of the convertible guru's on 3rd gen.org pick this car apart. I'm not saying that it isn't one of 3, but it isn't a GM/Pontiac prototype. More so it's an ASC conversion commissioned by a dealer.
Besides rare doesn't valuable...it just means rare.
The appraiser needs to go back to the hospital because his labotomy didn't take. Geez...$185,000.
If I took that appraisal to my insurance man he'd wipe his ass with it, because that's all it's worth.

A perfect example of why appraisals so often mean absolutely nothing...
I'm with you guys and toss the bs flag on this one. Appraisals are just good for when something happens to the car ie: damage or stolen and never reflects the cars actual market value. I don't think this one is worth the opening bid.
and you know, I think they know this to be true also.........if this was a car that was really worth 150K+, would you start your bid at 15K?? I pretty much doubt it.
If I owned that car and had that appraisal in hand I'd bury that bitch in the backyard and report it stolen!!! :blink:

I'd give him maybe $1500 for it, if he delivered it to my doorstep. That's a big maybe. This listing isn't as crazy as the one I saw last week. It said
"1989 anniversary pace car" It had a 305 tpi and obviously had GTA badges.
His reasoning was that 1989 was the TA anniversary, so this must be one.
Lots of ignorance out there, but it's entertaining a bit.
