do you actually store your car in a shipping container?
If so, I am interested to know how you like it.
I was thinking of getting a few containers for my cars since they are not taxed like garages and they are easily movable and sellable.
I also thought of getting an enclosed car carrier trailer that holds 4 cars. This could serve as a 4 car garage. Those 4 car carriers have lifts too. Since the lift is on the outside of the trailer, that trailer could be backed up to the rear entrance of an existing garage, and the lift on the back of the trailer could then be inside the existing garage. Your regular garage would have to be detached, and have lots of room behind it and a rear entrance. Mine does. But then, just by buying a trailer you would get a 4 car garage and lift, none of it taxable by real estate tax. And you can take it with you. And you can have 4 cars in it when you move it. On the other hand, if I was to build a 4 car garage on my property, they would tax me $300 per month on it and I could not take it with me.
My point here is that car trailers can serve as garages. If you need a garage and can't afford one, you could get an enclosed trailer and park it somewhere on or off your property. It can't be taxed, it's easy to move, and easy to sell. And you don't have to build it.
I heard about a collection of muscle cars that was locked up in trailers. Tractor trailer type trailers. with doors welded shut to keep the criminals from tampering with it. Some guy bought all of it as a lot, as car junk. About 30 trailers, each 40 ft long or 48 ft, full of cars and parts. But only good stuff like ls6 chevelles, zl1 motors, etc. It was all preserved in the trailers. It took the guy over a year to sell it all and he probably made a couple million profit.
Envy all you southern people that dont have to deal with winter. I dread it before it even gets here.
