i just ordered a set from classic industries and call me a dumbass but i cant figure out how to get them on lol any advice??
 
Let me know how those work out for you, I was thinking about ordering them also from Classic Industries. Thanks.
 
I can scan and post the instructions that came with the OEMs ... might already be on the board here somewhere.

And as already mention, velcro strips in the corners that face the center of the car and on the other side they just slide in just a bit under the plastic cover there the t-top handle sits. They need centering so when installed they cover the open area of the t-top.

And you need to find the indysrty strneght velcro glue style as the regular style will not work when hot from the sun (gets soft and sticky and comes off) ... I bought some velcro without glue (so sew on version) then used gorilla glue (sparengly) to glue it in place ... gorialla glue stands up to the heat and works fine.
 
Found 3m version but stronger than Velcro , may try this along with gorilla glue, thanks for the help
 
Thanks Jan-I may order a pair of these. Have you noticed any difference with the shades?? Are they of any benefit keeping heat/sun off of the leather seats so they last longer??

They keep the noise level down slightly and also keeps the sun out might lover the inside temperature slightly.

I keep mine in all the time so hard to say and of course here in the UK we don't get the temperatures like in Tx or other states ...

The classic industries ones are what I got in mine but I did notice they are slightly thinner compared to the OEM's I have.

But I like them in the car as it keeps the sun out, if I want sun I just take the t-tops off.

The only noise I like to hear is the turbo winding up.:yes:
My car didnt come with the OEM ones, so I saw the Classic Industries set for $54.99 pr.
Yes, the t tops are wonderful for the full sun experience!!
 
The problem with these shades is the foam they used back in 1989 when they made them is now starting to disintegrate and crumble apart to nothing. That is why the fabric is loose. I bet if you push your thumb into it there will be a thumb mark that won't go away! I had some made for my GN and TTA from a local guy that are duplicate of the OEM ones. Even used better foam in them along with water resistant backing board. As time goes on they will get worse. You may be able to take them to a guy who can cut them apart and re-foam them.
 
True, maybe I can check into getting new foam, hate to do away with them because they look good except for the one that is loose. Thanks for the input.
 
You can really feel the crumbled and bad foam inside, especially on the sides, after almost 22 years later they need new foam.:boxing:
 
Another issue with the OEMs and the same with the Classic Industry ones are they warp after been exposed to humidity in the air .... My Classic Industry ones I got back in 2008 I believe (possibly 2007) when I were in Huntington Beach ... and they warped within a a year or two (warp/bulge) driver side being the worst.

Backing should really be made out of some sort of sturdy plastic/pvc instead of cardboard.
