TTAs on Woodward

Well Wednesday was the Turbo Buick gathering and they had a pretty decent turn out. I didn't see any other TTAs out last night at all. I met Scott Kelly which was really kinda cool! I took some pics of the Buicks that I will post on this thread later. I will have the TTA out tonight as well, but Friday is my Mopar day.

Awesome Pic, the TTA looks really good.... sounds like a good time. Have a blast.

Did you have Scott Kelly sign your TTA anywhere?
 
Well Woodward 2012 is over. I saw a total of 5 TTAs on Woodward and one on the front lawn of a house near 12 Mile and Woodward.
Saw a lot more Grand Nationals that that..........

Woodward is something I want to do someday. Thanks for posting the pictures. I've never seen a GN with a bra on it. Pretty cool. Was the headlight missing for performance reason, or just broken?

Nice pics, kid. Always liked a GN. Whats the going price on a GN that needs work? I will look at TB site, but since we got some pics here and GN owners as well.

Woodward is beyond description! I've seen plates from everywhere imaginable from Alaska to Hawaii. While I was complaining about my 1 hour drive to Woodward my wife made me realize just how close we are.
The headlight is removed as a rather primitive air inductions system. Saw that a lot when they were new.

I also feel fortunate that 2 National events (Pontiac Nats and TA Nats) are only a few hours away. Also was really awesome the TTA reunion was close to me too!

Nice that you got to enjoy the Woodward "Cruise". Thanks for the pix, it must be a fanatastic scene.
That may need to be "bucket list" item.
I wouldn't think that is much of a surprise about the GNs. I don't know the exact numbers, but there were about 5,000 GNs made in 1986, then about 20,000 more in 1987 - compared to 1550 TTAs. Plus the turbo-6 powered "T"s...

TTAGuy - A GN that "needs work" (how much?) can be pretty cheap. The prices are low now, I think that you can get a driving car in the $6 to 10K range.

TTAGUY I agree that a decent project GN can be found for just under 10K for a decent car. You can buy some junk for under 5K.

The above estimates on GN production are very very close to the actual #'s.

Mark and Sixpack, that sounds very nice under 10k for a project GN. I just look into that when the TTA is done. Thanks
 
You guys don't know how lucky you are .. I was due there this year WITH a car ex Sydney but one thing lead to another and the legals prevented it.. perhaps in 2013.. but its the BEST Happiest cruise event in the world that I know off.. been to it on purpose 5 times in 12 years.. the last time flew from Sydney.. lobbed into Detroit Metro at around 1.30am Friday morning.. flew out again at 8pm Sat. .back a work at 9am Monday.. Tired but happy.. Your not lived till you do Woodard...:-)

Wow you are a die hard car guy! I really do appreciate living so close. There were a couple of Aussie cars out this year. You truly see a little of everything! I'm sure that you have noticed all the plates from everywhere. But I think Sydney may be the the longest distance traveled to any car show ever:clap:!

There was a second TTA there. In fact you had the front corner of it in your picture next two two GN's
It was TTA #891
It was so rusty it couldn't be saved so 100% of the drive train was transplanted into a 1992 Z28 with Leather and t/Tops.
Scott Kelly and I were taking for a while that day too and for the record I've also owned #1415, #1025 and an 81 Nascar TTA
