Here's my problem...
Had the differential fluid changed for the first time a month ago and then went on a 300 mile trip. Car has 32,000 actual miles on it.
At the 400 mile mark, I noticed that the rear end would shudder a little when in reverse. Nothing bad, but noticeable. 100 miles later and I just came back from a quick expressway (70mph) trip of 25 miles and the car made a huge grinding noise from the rear when I applied the brakes off the exit ramp. Limped home, turned into the drive and the grinding noise is very obvious and can be heard when in first, and quite loud in reverse. Any ideas?
I had all rear bolts inspected, tires yanked on and rotated on a lift, the u-joints are tight and no noise when running in 1st gear on a lift. An ideas???
