About the Trans Am Club of American, Golden State Chapter. The Trans Am
Club of America was originally conceived by Pontiac back in the 1970s.
As Pontiac lost interest, many of the local Chapters adopted the name
with their local Chapter designation. The Golden State Chapter,
chartered in 1979, is currently one of the four (4) known original
chapters still in existence.

Hi Dave!
What are the four clubs?
I was under the understanding that the Southern California Club disbanned. Are they still up and running???

Have a good one,

George

George,
Trans Am Club of America, Dayton Ohio Chapter
Trans AM Club of America, Houston Chapter
Trans Am Club of America (in Philadelphia, Bob's Club)
Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter (Sacramento)

These are the origial club still in existance not the clubs that were originally involved with Trans-a-rama. Their were many many more originally, like the Sothern California Chapter. The Club in Denver was Trans Am Club of America, West.

Dave

Thanks Dave!
I never knew about the Houston Club. Are they still around? On the net, or just snail mail newsletters?
BTW, did your club send money to use the name, like they (other clubs) use too? Just wondering, not trying to get anyone in any kind of trouble.

Later,

George

George,
The Houston Club has a web site: http://www.tachclub.com/

I do not know how active thy are.

I was not around when our club was created so I do not know what the process and cost involved to use the "Trans Am Club of America" name involved. I bet J.O. would know. I do know the Trans Am Club of America, West in Denver was not making any payments as of 1982 and the Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter did not pay anything as of 1986 when I joined.

Dave

Thanks for the info Dave!
I know that other clubs were to pay for the name.
When I joined the SoCal Chapter, back in '84, they didn't pay either.

I was just wondering,

George
