In the pics, it actually looks like the OEM one has a fatter head. I will see if I can call them and ask them if they can CNC one according to the sizes Jan gave. I wonder if they might want to have the original to go by. It can't hurt to ask. Price is a big factor. We could definitely buy the one Mike has and paint it, and nobody would know it is off by a few mm.

Correction , the top is not 38.1mm it is actually 19mm or 3/4 in.
Which is slightly smaller than the 22mm on the oem one.

There's some slight differences ... I suspect most people, like myself, would be happy with their design and just get them to cut a small pocket/hole at the tip for us to glue a magnet in place ..

I'm keen on a magnet version with that head style for ground clearence ... hence not using my OEM on my newly built engine.

I can get the magnets here in the UK however they only sell 20 or 25 packs of them and the glue however that is enough glue for 25 of them as well so not cost effective doing just one or two drain plugs ....

The allen size is 7/32.

OEM one takes 1/4" allen key ... just tried.

I called Totally Stainless and they can custom make the oil pan plug.

They said it would be much easier having a original oil plug as a guide.
Do not know any pricing at this point.

We have to install our own magnets but they can machine or drill for the magnet hole.

They told me the only problem is, being really busy this winter. And in the spring would be a better time getting it done.

Even told me I could trade or send the one I just bought.

Mike, that is really good news.

If no one else a bit closer got a OEM plug to lend I'm happy to send you mine (it's worn as you can see from my pictures) for them to use as a template.

If they then can do two versions, one as close as possible to the OEM plug and the other one identical but cut the pocket for us to glue a magnet in place.

Also get them un-polished (so just a fine machined surface) and the correct allen key.

You can send them the one you bought to get it replaced when you send them an OEM one to copy.

Has anyone considered contacting them for some shiny valve cover acorns? I'd buy a set.

Their bolt kit says it includes bolts for the valve covers, but I'd bet they mean GN style valve covers.

I got a NOS set of valve cover acorns a while back. You are probably right about the ones they have for the GN and not for the TTA.

It might be worth a call though.

Old thread however Scott did confirm the allen head drain plug was due to ground clearance.

Good news is I found a stainless steel drain plug that is the correct thread and just slightly smaller diameter head .... not ordered one as they don't really do emails and ask me to call them every time I've asked for some overall dimensions and also wanted to know if they could make a magnet version of it ...

So this is the company Totally Stainless they do make some cool stuff like a stainless door striker and got plenty of ss fasteners and kits.

So if anyone like to get one and try it out would be great

I finally did a oil change today and I used the totally stainless oil drain plug. It fit really good, I used the original washer but it seemed a little large. But it is not leaking and all is good.

Just wanted to try it and now I can work on getting a magnet version made.

Here are a couple of pics:
1. comparing the stock allen with the stainless allen, stock is 1/4 and the stainless is 7/32. So not much difference.
