So what's the fuel / petro prices like in your area?

When the fuel prices go up I like my little Honda Accord 4 cyl more and more! Today in the Philly area they are $3.67 a gallon for regular. Since we have members all over the globe here, what are you guys/gals paying around you?

Kills me how this prick just "threatens" to block the fuel in the water ways and the prices go right up!

There is no ryhme or reason to gas prices. I gave up long ago trying to figure out the "best" day of the week to fill up. There is no pattern. Gas is at the top of the food chain. Everything else falls underneath it and is manipulated by it.

About 10 days ago, gas here was $3.22, a few days later I passed the same station and it was $3.79. It has consistently stayed at $3.79 since then.

My biggest pet peeve is hearing the fourth quarter net income of Exxon Mobile-9.4 BILLION. Yeah, they are really hurting.

I don't even look at the gas prices. Like Kymmee I gave up tryin. I have to buy gas so I just fill up when I need to. What else am I gonna do? Walk? Don't really have a choice, gotta buy it. I think if I logged all the money I spent on fuel it would upset me. THat and the cost of oil changes lol, cause I drive alot, I change oil alot. UGH!!!

I paid 3.95 for regular yesterday. NY is usually higher then everywhere else but I heard that parts of California are already paying over 5 bucks a gallon.

Roughly $8.20 per US gallon for petrol sorry gaaaas :-)

Diesel even more expensive at around $9 per US gallon ... I use that for my other turbo car ...

Secretary of Energy under Genius Obummer Steven Chu said that their administrations goal isn't to be concerned with the price of gas going up, rather if the price goes up it's a positive thing in that it will lead to using no Fossil fuel at all.

Ever seen a jet airline running a battery? How about a combine running a batter? Long distance trucking using batteries?

Problem is that these suits in Washington have never actually experienced anything similar to real life.

Does this big Wussy look like he knows of anything regular people deal with?
You think he's ever got a drop of that evil oil on his pampered little paws changing his vehicles oil? What a joke.

This is the fun part ... were the money goes (this is for the UK but most countries would be very similar I presume) ... this also explains why the gas stations sell everything else you don't need besides gas lol

Jan - you're right. The gas retailer's margins are razor thin. Meanwhile they have to deal with all the angry customers fed up at rising prices, and some fat cat oil company is raking in the dough.:mad2:

Average cost for regular unleaded (87 Octane) in Los Angeles is between $4.00 and $4.50/gallon, +$0.10 for 89, and +0.20 for 91.

But I've heard that while the oil companies are making quite a high profit of the product itself, their profits are eaten up by the refining, exploratory expense, shipping the product and payroll.

What sucks is that you can research this stuff, but you get the information "they" want to be put in front of you.

High Desert California

87 @ $4.29
89 @ $4.39
91 @ $4.49

We are driving our his and hers 99 Miata's during the week and 94 Jeep Wrangler in the desert on the weekends.............

Just down the road 93 recently edged up over $4.00. I use 93 in both of my cars.

And I know the gas stations have to make a buck somewhere. I paid nearly $6 for a pint of Ben & Jerry's the other day. I said, "Wow, guess you pay for the convenience." The guy said, "Oh no, that's the price they tell us to put on there." Well when it's > $2 more than the local grocery story which is a 50% markup on their already marked up price...someone's making a buck.
<end rant, steps down from soapbox>

$3.89 here for regular, but that is a college town. Just in time to drive 2000 miles in the next week.

That is where you put down the Ben and Jerry's in return for an apple/banana.
