So Spark Plugs?

So what is the popular replacement spark plug for this engine? I'm pretty sure mine are years old and in need of replacement, also any tricks to making it easy, looks like some of them are not easy to get to

I run the NGK gapped to .032.

Seems to be working alright. I have changed them twice since owning the car.

I run the NGK TR6 gapped to .032. I went back and looked at my maintenance history. I have 112 passes on these plugs. Still sparking away!

Julio recommended them to me...worked on his 10.5 second car, should work find for me. Honestly, any plug is probably fine..

those plugs say that have platnum in them ... Turbo cars produce alot of heat and platnum will hold the heat an make the car spark knock.

Cheaper copper plugs work well with these cars.

like i said i run A/C an autolite but if Julio recomends NGK thats what i would use.... might have to try some myself. I have alot of custom parts off his 10.5 TTA on my car. He is a very smart guy an knows what he is talking about.

Even ordered a shirt from him the other day it looks cool has a TTA and a GN on it !

Street car = AC Delco first pick. AutoLite second pick.

Race car = AC Delco AutoLite and or NGK are fine.

Nothing else. Don't think your doing the car or engine a favor by putting anything else in it. Odds are it will most likely run like shit with anything other then the plugs mentioned in this thread. I put under 300 miles on my TTA per year and change the plugs at least once a year. I have found the GN and TTA love it when I put new plugs in them. I can feel the difference right away all around on the car. I've been using nothing but AC Delco. I would however only buy AC Delco in the boxes. I've seen them sold in blister packs and I've "heard" those are not made at the same place or are not of the same quality.

whats the ac delco part number?

Should be listed in the owner's manual supplement. Do you have one of those? I've got a bunch laying around somewhere.

I remember a LOOOONG time ago about there being two different types of the boxed plugs and the difference was the color print of the part number. Not sure if there really was a difference but I always used the AC Delcos.

I run AC R42LTS also, gapped at .035 on the stockers but tigten my GTA's up between .030 and a tight .032 depending on how much boost and what fuel I'm planning to run. They last a while and havent given me a problem in the stockers yet but I have gone through 4-5 sets a year in the past with my GTA as I like to change them every 50 passes or so, they are cheap enough (under $2 each) and easy to do takes like 1/2 hour.

Use the AC Delco ones as well ... cheap and not had any issues at all running them. I heard at some point they were about to discontinue (many years ago) them so bought a number of boxes so got plenty of them for future use

Matt I believe I changed the plugs not long after I bought the car. So I might have put 200-300 miles on them before you bought it?
