Seat Belt Bezel

Hey Gang,

Has anyone replaced the bezel on the seat belt that attaches to the locking mechanism on roof where it passes through the headliner. Is there a way to slide the old one off and the replacement on? Surely they did not slide this onto the belt and then sew it up. I have not unbolted the lower anchor yet to look for options on that end.

Any tips appreciated.

Nope can't come off, the replacements GM sold had a slit/cut in them to be able to install. If you find some nice replacements you can cut a thin slot in them (GM did it on the short side toward the center of the car) to install them.

Thanks Jan, as always you have skinny on the finest details of our cars. My sewing skills are not up for a seat belt job. Wouldn't trust that in a wreck at all. I'll cut a small slit with the plastic specific disc on a dremmel. Have a great day.
