If you were buying a ScanMaster, who would you buy it from? And why?

I'll be getting one in the near future. :D
 
Pretty sure FullThrottle would be the way to go if you want a new one. All depends on how fast your looking for one. I have one in each of my cars that I picked up off the turbobuick boards. The one I paid 125 shipped and the other I paid 150 shipped. So deals are out there just gotta catch the right person at the right time! This is a major item for a turbo Buick engine and everyone should have one!
 
Yup if you want new I would definatly order it from Mike at www.fullthrottlespeed.com I bought mine used for like $150 shipped I think, and then I just changed the wiring on it to how I wanted it. They're not really something that just goes bad or wears out or anything so buying it used as long as the case isn't really beat up is probably the best way to go.

I have one in my TTA. I have been on the lookput for a used one for a while now. I almost had one for 150 but someone hijacked my thread and got it first! :censor: :fyou: :furious: :aggressive: :mad2:

Well that's no good! If worse comes to worse, I'll just buy a new one. :meanttosay: .......I have a month or so.........maybe a used one will pop up.

Jim, I've been looking around and there seems to be a few different versions? What is the newest version? And what's the oldest version you'd go with? Or does it matter? Thanks again!
 
Well 2.1 is the newest version. I actually have a 2.0 and a 2.1 They look the same but the electronics are a little different inside. One thing the 2.1 has cross counts that can help with tuning. You can not upgrade the 2.0 to the 2.1. I had the 2.1 in my TTA but being it's all stock I just have it in there to keep an eye on knock and my 02's. It's also nice when going to a show you can keep an eye on things like engine temps and outside temps with it. I would personally go with the 2.1 if you ever want to upgrade and get fullthrottle's new power logger you'll need the 2.1 to work with the power logger. I'd keep an eye on the boards. They pop up for sale from time to time for sure. I'm moving my 2.0 back into the TTA and putting the 2.1 in the GN because I just picked up that Powerlogger and the GN is more of a race/fun car. It is a must! It's a small thing that can keep your TTA running awesome and keep an eye on that knock! :thumbup:

And to the reliability of them, they are great. My dad has one on his dash for just over 3 years now rain, snow, heat, cold, still works great. In the summer it gets so hot you can't even touch it. In the winter the LED's are still bright and leave no trail. I've ordered both of mine from Mike.

I went to full throttle and could not find it. Is it the same as 86-7 regals? Or do I need to contact them for pricing?

it's the same thing as the Grand National part.
