Saturday Woodward Dream Cruise

Some friends and I are planning on making the trek up to Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday. Yes, I know that it's better during the week but I wanted to go on the weekend so that we can spend all day up there. I've always wanted to go but I've always had something that conflicted with it in my schedule. Anyone else planning on going? For those who have been I have a few questions:

Can I just drive up there and be able to park? I know they fill up fast, but are pretty much all the lots preregister only?

What time should I plan on getting up there to find a good spot? We were thinking about leaving here a little after 4 so we should get there around 7:30

Where is the best place to park? It looks like there's a lot going on around the loop at one end

Any other things we should know before leaving?

I will be there fo sho. I'll be parked at 14 mile ... but if you're getting there at 7:30 you'll be able to find parking in the main lot on the main corner of 13 mile ... the lot on the southwest corner ... it'll be major Mopar stuff there too.

I'll have the TTA for that day!!!

Sent you a PM. We should at least get together for lunch or something.

I don't see a wrapup review, so must assume that you either died or may still be hospitalized from the ridiculous emissions created by several days of 40,000 idling (many poorly tuned and running leaded race fuel) cars that gas out the Detroit metro area each year. Next year, consider hitting the 5,000 car "Bricks" event in Flint where the downtown streets are blocked and the enthusiast cars are parked. The Turbo Buick Club of Michigan guys had a special section on 4th street and they welcomed TTAs. Everyone I've been able to get to "Bricks" tell me that it's much better than the Dream Cruise. See 'ya in Flint in 2012.
