replacing vacuum lines

I need to replace the vacuum lines on my car before trekking out to Ohio for the reunion. I know I need some 5/32 and 7/32 ID hose. does anyone know what wall thickness i should get, also what kind of hose, is a pure silicone hose ok, or should i get something else. also, any other size vacuum hose needed? Anyone know of a good place to get it from. One problem i am having is i can only find it in MM and the only standard I can find is the 5/32. I dont need to replace the big line to the brake booster from the vacuum block, but everything else i would like to replace. Thanks for any help.

The rubber on the car last 22 years so just go to Pep Boys / Advanced Auto / Auto Zone and buy some different sizes and lengths of rubber hose and go around the engine bay and replace them. I've done both of my GN's and those stores had it all.

Replaced mine with hoses from NAPA, I took some of my old ones off and they matched them, making sure I had the correct size.

I am sure any of the auto parts chains would be fine.

I was going to get some from work( I work at a Ford dealership) but the vacuum lines we have all say Motorcraft on it. I definitely dont want to use that, unless i can clean off the lettering. If not, I will check out Napa. Thanks.

The ones that I can get from work are not silicone. Just never used silicone before and did not know how well they hold up with the heat and if they have any issues with slipping off or if they should be clamped on.

You misunderstood. I mean the motorcraft will come right off. I do it a lot (getting labels off).

Don't use silicone. Too expensive and often too large OD without a high enough ply with the correct ID and a small OD. It reflects how silicone is manufactured. Without space contraints it rocks.

while we are on the subject , the vac line going to the crusie control tees off right at the air filter box, anyone know where it goes from there ?

I believe it may go to the vacuum reservoir.
i think you are looking at the wrong tee , this is a vac source from the back of the intake manifold goes along the driver fender straight to the cruise control , right in front of the air filter and washer bottle it tees off , somewhere , its about 18 inchs long , i think the one you are looking at is the charcoal canister

Ok. the vacuum line that comes from the back of the motor that starts from a hardline out of the wiring harness on the firewall then goes to the one way valve just under the coil pack( i believe this is for the Hvac controls to select defrost/floor/dash vents), then follows the drivers fender and Tees off right between the air box and washer bottle, one side goes to the cruise servo, the other end(bottom of the T) goes through a hole in the apron and behind the fender. That vacuum line does go to the vacuum reservoir behind the bumper.
