Radio Antenna Fix

The Winter Gremlins got me again. After installing my newly powder coated Driveshaft and test pipe, I went for a cruise and the antenna motor will not stop running and its stuck in the up position. I removed the fuse to stop the motor before it burned up.

So does anyone know where to get a replacement power antenna and how much of a job it is to R & I? No band-aids for me: it has to be like OEM....

All advice is greatly appreciated...!

Thanks...Philthy

GM Part No. 22038195 - Antenna Rebuild Kit - For When antenna constantly runs. It's cheap too.

You'll need to pull the inner fender well to get access to it.

There is/was a write-up on how to fix this on the old 89tta.com website. I'll look around and see if I copy & pasted it into a word file....I can't remember if I did or not.

Hi,
I bought my car with a replacement antenna that is not stock appearing, as the fender bezel is different. However, I believe it is the unit the dealers sell, oe parts.I am familiar only with the repair kits sold for G cars ng the 80s and 90s, and they were almost ridiculous in the repair procedure required. I would install GM's complete unit, and be done with it.Good luck with your repair.
