Part identification

BuickGN

TTA# 130
Does anyone know what the exact name for this part is? Is where you put the key to open the back hatchback. It's the black plastic with the white Firebird emblem. Here's a picture of it less the white Firebird emblem. Does anyone know where I can get one?

If you're just looking for the emblem:
CAR Motorsports: Turbo Trans Am Cloisonne' Emblems
Phoenix Graphix 1989 Turbo Trans Am Emblems
1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Sail Panel Indy Emblem (2):eBay Motors (item 350252023007 end time Oct-12-09 16:09:12 PDT) - you can email ozpoint, he's a member on here but rarely posts but I believe he makes the emblems. He's a great guy to work with.

As for the center section your best bet is probably ebay or a junk yard. You can clean them up pretty good with some compound.

I want to know exactly what that black center section piece is called. So when I call a junkyard or what not I'll know what to ask for.

I'll take a stab at it...tailight center section filler panel.

These are getting rare, as in usable condition. They are usually broken on the mounting tabs and good ones can fetch up to a C note on e-bay.

By George, I think you've got it! Just take out the "filler panel" and it sounds correct. Any yards that that specialize in this car that people know about?

yes David T's Camaro Firebird, the largest lot of camaros/firebirds in the whole entire world..... according to him......but I believe him.......and he'll take your left eye arm and nut for that piece you want.

Vik,

Is that the spare section I included with the car? The original was cracked but only visible when you opened the hatch. The spare was in good condition, it just needs to be buffed to make it look a little better.

And if you're looking for another one you can try Hawk's Third Gen. I think that's where I bought the other one from.

Hi Guys.. hope all are well...
The center emblem for the GTA is gold / black is # 10064400 , GM disc'd ages ago. We legally produced the plastic ones for both the GTA series & the Silver ones for the TA's, all GM Approved... for about US$20 each - the TTA.. is a different story.. I'll let others be the judge but our refined and retooled Tail lamp center panel TTA emblem is as perfect as it can get I think.. metal rather then plastic. Seen a few also being traded on ebay claiming to be GM without box's etc.. IF you want one or need to clarify it go to PW Distribution
Yell if you need help.

(PS.. note today finally GM is releasing the blurb about the Caprice Police Cars to be sold in the US from late next year, essentially - they are a high performance G8 with a few inches added.. .. bet there'll be a line up at the "Cop Car Sales Yard" for surplus sales in a few years time - probably one of the highest performing RWD SEDAN vehicles ever made by the big three - & worse still ..we can't buy them down here !)

Wow! Now I can look forward to a possible replacement for the '95 Impala SS.

Whoa ... sent email to David Camaro and Firebird for a radio ... a non-working core took my left & right nuts ... a working radio took my children too! You can buy entire parts cars for what he's asking for a radio.

Of course I'm not buying and will never inquire again.

already did that ... getting his radio! Thanks for the heads-up ... I was just commenting on the UNBELIEVABLE high prices that I was quoted. At that rate it would cost you $500,000 in parts to redo a car! :)

I know, that's why I bring most of the stuff I'm looking for from the USA, in fact my Hawks Spoiler is at the customs as we speak ... type !! I can't get a spoiler up here !! if I got it from David, I would have to trade him the car for the spoiler !!

In my opinion there's no way that he can be selling that much stuff ... the exchange rate is not that big of a deal and if I'm not mistaken is actually favoring the dollar right now vs. Canada's dollar.

But he's entitled to ask whatever he wants. When he asked me for $xxx.xx for a core radio I asked him whether he would give me 1/3 of $xxx.xx for the same thing and all I got was a deafening silence.
