Oil but no pressure!!!

Well I can't have a motor with a broken block, even if it is a spare. I am going to tear down the motor myself as I think it would be interesting and I can look for any other damage. When I get number 3 cap off I will post a pic of the bearing for you Rich. The #2 bearing does show evidence of excessive wear on it to my virgin eyes, but I am not an engine builder.....

I assume that this block is now worthless, and can not be fixed. Even if it could be fixed I don't think I would trust it. It will be interesting to see the condition of the cometics after the continuous beating I give them.

Ya that's the scary thing I thought my tune was pretty good, I wasn't gettin any more then 0.7 knock at the top of third last summer? I was pretty hard on this motor though, it was built by Arizona GN and then rebuilt here in Canada twice more.

For my new motor I'm gonna tune with the power logger, I just put my ECM back together and will wire it all up this week.

After seeing the benefits of faster updating PCM's, I am really thinking the stock ECM is not good for the power we make.

Keep us updated! I am sure your car will run awesome.

I'm starting to think that way too...So many variables that we add like progressive alky, bigger turbos, bigger boost numbers, different profile cams, bigger injectors and so on. So much can happen in so short of time that I wonder if the factory ECM is fast enough to compensate.

It's an interesting topic to discuss and I'd like to read some opinions.

Jarred, I'd like to see all the components kept together like plugs and bearing halves so if we can identify one cylinder we could see the damage related to it, like maybe if #4 shows a plug melted or material on it we could correlate with the big end of the connecting rod blown out or a bearing wiped out.

And I agree, there maybe someone who could repair that block but why invest the money?

One more thing...is that an aftermarket crank? if so it doesn't look like it was knife edged or bull nosed and if it is the maybe it wasn't balanced and that might explained the cracked register.

Only problem is the highly knowledgeable won't post.

All I can say is, after seeing a Motec in action, even the fast is elementary. Granted it is $5000.
