Nut Case

The tojans were a strange car. That one is not bad. There were some that I liked better. Very rare cars though.

Com'mon, you gotta be shitting me! I hope you aren't drinking at your age. haha...:drunk:

Haha nah it's parents weekend. I decided to take one off. Well that and I have two tests on tuesday.

I have never seen one of those cars before though. And yes, I agree it is ugly.

Jason

And why would this be termed a "Nut Case"?
Just because you don't like the car?

:beach:

Yes.
The factory got it right the first time. Taking a perfectly good 87 T/A and hanging silly fenders and plopping a hokey hood on it so that it "looks exotic" is lame. I say be proud of the Pontiac engineered T/A instead this... A heavy slow April fools day car. This is whats called "shitty design" i.e. Corvette summer and Death race 2000. No offense intended to actual nut cases. Just my opinion.

The acid was good stuff back in the 80's! :eeks: While unique and different I would not rock it that's for sure!

I tend to like modded cars,
And this car is nice.
You could get these car with Recaro seats as well.
I see nothing wrong with it.
I find it funny that people go all over message boards and tell everyone what they don't like.
And try and make a big deal out of it.
You are right, it is your opinion, yet attack others that like it.
I guess we are not allowed our opinion.
Sorry, but I like all Trans Ams.

I've attacked no one here on this forum. I only made a light hearted and intended to be humorous comment on what in my "opinion" is a silly looking car. I didn't email the seller of the car on e-bay and tell him that his car sucks. You, I and all here are allowed their opinion, that's why it's a ummm...forum. Quote anything I've said in this forum that could be regarded as an "attack" or bashing someone for their opinion. For an example of an attack go to the political views on the buick forums.

I take any negative as an attack.
You are right, what you said is nothing compared to what goes on at other sites (like Buick boards and say, even thirdgen.org.
I believe that if someone doesn't like something, they should keep it to themself, or just let someone close know, not post it up for all to see.
I have never had anything bad to say about people (well, maybe a few ;) ) on this site, so please don't take this that I have any bad feelings about you.
I grew up in the era where everyone had certain cars, and they all looked exacally the same, so modded cars were the big "in".
I mean you couldn't drive more than a block away, without seeing the same car.
When Corvette Summer came out, I liked that vette.
Does that mean I would buy/want it?
No, but I do know the work and money that goes into it, and the pride that the owner/builder has with their car.
With message boards, people don't see the others who read their replys, so they tend to post whatever they want.
I just feel people shoud have more tack with what they say.
I see so much of this on Firebird boards.
Why do you think GM wouldn't let Pontiac have the Bird back.
People said they wouldn't buy a new version of the car.
So, you people that said things like that, are the ones who killed the car.
It use to be that if you owned a Firebird, you didn't even talk wih someone who owned a Camaro.
When the thirdgens came out, all of a sudden, it seemed everyone started combining the two in car clubs.
Same with the fourthgen.
Camaro owners and car magazines called the second gen Trans Ams Firechickens.
It offened Trans Am owners.
Same with the calling of the hood bird of a second gen, a Screaming Chicken on the hood.
Now, it seems all the young people think that's what it is.
Chicken had nothing at all to do with the car.
I also take offence to this as well.
To me, they are destroying the image of the Firebird and what it means.
So, now you know where I am coming from.
It must be my old age. ;)

Any negative is an attack? Wow, life's a bitch.

I just don't agree. America is where free speech and opinion should be held in high regard as well it should bloom. Fair criticism is what designers rely on. You whittle away at the first idea and distill it down to something awesome. Something Trojan didn't do, something that Pontiac did do.
I'm pro Trans Am. The Trojan tried to mask or HIDE the fact that this was a Firebird, they tried to make it look like something they created. No visible "screaming chickens" visible on this incarnation. Just a poor man's exotic and it belongs in a trailer park or put back to original.

:

Looks like the last Trans Am had plenty of birds count'em on the pic below.
Like what 5 visible and then some, as far as the demise of the T/A today,
I didn't kill anything, you can thank Government motors as well as the previous General motors bad management and operpaid suit and tie dick heads stupid decisions (now that was an attack and a negative). 11 prototype Firebirds exist supposedly, but we all know what happened to Pontiac.

Well then,
Feel free to say you don't like me. ;)
I must have hit a spot, for you to answer back to almost everything I posted.
Glad to see people don't agree with me.
I never said anyone had to, or you.
I'm glad you can have your opinion, and fire it right at people who don't agree with you.

I don't agree with you on this car, that's all.
I like it, and it's apart of Firebird history.
And others must like it, after all, they sold everyone that they built.

Life ain't a bitch to me, just because I see things slightly different than you.

I've said my piece,

George

I don't dislike you at all George, I in fact think you have much to contribute to this TTA forum and have contributed a lot of awesome pictures and history. I just disagree with you on this and also I didn't attack anyone here on this forum, and really it's minor. I don't think this car has anything to do with Firebird history, It's Trojan's history.

I think my central ethos in this case is that I think that what Pontiac did was awesome and hiding the lines of the firebird under some bulky add-ons was an attempt by some company to capitalize on what wasn't truley engineered by them but masked by what amounted to some duck tape and glue just to make a buck.

I meant life is a bitch if you feel that negativity isn't naturally going to occur in any and all circles in regards to cars, art, music, politics, everything under the sun.

I was trolling e-bay and found this to be hideous to me and thought I'd get others opinions. I also posted a beautiful red 5 spd GTA in a forum and had positive comments. It was an exceptional representation of a rare survivor and wanted other T/A lovers to see it and get comments on it as well.

Take it however you want, the Trojan looks like shit. The 3rd gen was one of the best bodys on a muscle car of all time and perfect as is, just why you would screw it up with something so horrid is beyond me.

Just because theres money or work put into something, it doesn't look good or is any more acceptable. The trojan is not a part of firebird history, its an abomination.
