New/Old site back up! 89tta.com

YOU! dont remember the emails you and your buddy over at johns performance were sending me acting as a lawyer and saying YOU! owned the rights to the registry and that if i dont take it down YOU were going to sue me?
I REMEMBER!!
Well the 1 and ONLY Registry is right here where it all started and where its STAYING! Sorry if I got the idea before you!!! But hey NICE TRY!
Thanks for visiting! Oh and you could of sold your site but asking $5k LOL! You could of got something but now you got NOTHING!

The last time I ever heard from you, Chris, was February 16, 2007, when you cheerfully emailed me about hosting the old TTA site. Other than that we never communicated substantively much at all. I did get some emails from the turbobuick fellow about hosting/buying the site but not you.

Everyone knows the TTA registry was originally John Pearcy's idea. The whole reason it came about was because, unlike other limited edition cars like the GNX, Pontiac decided not to number the TTA. John started his registry in the early 1990s as a way to uncover the build sequence of the cars and, to form a community among TTA owners. As I sit here at my pool typing I have no idea what John's been up to these days.

For my part, I collected TTA VINs number data through many different sources and determined the build number from that. When the site went down I was able to positively identify 1505 out of 1555 VINs. I still have the database of course and I'd be willing to share it under the right conditions.

The 89tta site went down for reasons completely unrelated to the TTA community, this site, or any other external reasons. As life goes on people's priorities change. Mine did too and the TTA list dropped way off my radar.

I remember being emailed alot, by John Percy, for info on my car, as well as sending him money.
As for "his" registry of vins, he would not share at ALL!
Not even one.
He just wanted your vin, and he would "guess" your build number.
I asked for a copy of his so-called newsletter, and he said he didn't give them out. But no one, I mean no one, has seen one to show me, or even read to me.
He even sent me a kinda nasty email, asking why I didn't want to help with his registry.
Help?
You mean just send him money, and get nothing?
I knew my car number, yet I had everyone argue with me that there was no way I could have that car.
Well, I still have it, and yes, it's still the same car number I knew it to be.
Money seems to be the big thing these days as well as years ago.
The info was to be for everyone and free.
Now it'll never happen.
To me, and others, that's a shame.
To us owners, and others who like our cars.

Hello everyone. I'm glad to see the site back up. Thanks very much to all the responsible parties!

I have VIN#1G5FW2171KL238318

Does this mean anything to anyone?

It also came with a brass plate on the lower passenger dash board with 383/1555 on it and on the left side it has a relief of a firebird with some red and black on it.

Never seen anything like that on a TTA. Maybe the previous owner had it made.
Have any pics?

Ron,

Long time no talk. The name is Viktor Zimmerman who bought your car. Still doing just fine very limited amount of miles. Love the car! The reason I'm e-mailing you is about the build number. You've told me that the build number 130. When I looked at another post, another member named Dave Gershon claims that his build number is the same. How sure are you about that number?
Viktor Zimmerman

Vik,

I'm very sure, how about 99.99%. If you look at Dave's signature neither of his cars is build #0130, but his festival car had a festival #130. The build numbers did not match the festival car numbers nor did they match the numbered festival plates. So yes, your car is build #0130. HTH
