Found your site via Google and thought I'd check it out.

While I don't have a 89 (yet), I do have an 81 turbo Nascar, so I guess I'm kind of a first-cousin-twice removed here.

Looking to see how much knowledge I can steal from you guys as I prepare to acquire a 89 TTA. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to the board, I'm sure this site will be very help as the time approaches to buy an 89. I see that you're from Waterford which is a little ways north of me, but if you need someone to come look at an 89 with you I'd be more than willing as long as it's within like a 3 hour drive for me. Also, there's a car show in Dundee that's Firebird/Trans Am specific and it's a lot of fun. I posted about it in this thread http://www.turbotransam.com/cgi-bin/forum/showthread.php?t=1616 you should bring out your 81, I know there was a couple there last year.

Can't wait to see pics of you car. Just last week, an unmarked police officer ask me to pull over to tell me he had a car like yours. I cant wait to see it as I never see one. I have seen a couple 80 Turbo Indys, but not an 81 Turbo Nascar. Cya around.

I love the '81 Turbo NASCAR Trans Am.
The interior is super sharp, and the Recaros rock!
I use to own both a NASCAR and a Indy Turbo Trans Am.
I miss them both.

Yeah, I've heard good things about the Dundee show...think they call that one the "Nesting of the Birds"...never made it to that one though.

As an aside, just had an anniversary with the car.

Purchased it April 1, 1990...17 years with the old girl.

No, my wife didn't care.

Only car guys give a rip about crap like that.
