Need radio repair shop

There's a ebay listing for a N.O.S. new GM antenna its at about $200. A repair shop would charge more and need to get parts. Most just replace with wrong aftermarket. The radio can be found on ebay also...easy to do
 
I went that route and bought an antenna off of eBay only to find out it was the wrong one. I had to send it back. I would rather pay a repair shop more and get the job done right

They are not that hard to repair. There's a post on how to repair them using cable wire instead of nylon that brakes. They sell gm replacement nylon cord on ebay sometimes but its costly as part is discontinued. It was the repair part gm offered. Go figure replace the broken nylon cord with a new nylon cord. I myself have repaired a few with cable wire and they're still operational. Now you can even use small screws on case instead of rivets. Makes it even easier. I have many broken ones for spares so I can rebuild them when needed. I also installed a switch that cuts antenna power when im listening to CD's. I have a factory delco cd player...which is unbelievably still working.

Another part I started to buy were the black antenna base and nut that is on fender. Those are becoming scarce. I bought anbout 20 of each new many years ago and remove them in the junkyard When I find good ones on firebirds or camaros.
 
It will take about 2 weeks with mailing to Texas but I will report back
Once I put the antenna back in.
