TTA/TR

Alright I have a friend that's gonna buy my TR . I don't want to sell it but I can't devote all my time to two cars. My TTA could use paint, not bad but it's the original paint. The spoiler is cracked, of course. The car is in decent overall condition. Very sound car and has been high 11's @ 122. Now my question is: do I put the money into the TTA or sell it and buy a low milage stocker? My car has 79k on it, owener's kit and all documentaion. I'm the third owner.
I'm figuring it's gonna cost 3k for the paint (I want it done right) 2k for seat covers, and while I'm at it I'm gonna change the carpet and headliner, both are not bad btw. So is it worh it to invest let's say 6k into a car like mine or sell it for 13k and buy a TTA for 22k? I do like the idea of having an 11 second pump gas TTA, but I'd also like to have a bone stock low milage TTA that will be more of an investment and a showpiece. What would you guys do?

Hmmmm..........I know you said you have already said you don't have time for two cars.........but if it was me, I'd keep the car you have, and make it faster.......and then go out and buy a low-mileage show-piece stocker :D

Well one thing is for sure TTA's are pretty easy to bring back to new. Everything you need is avaiable for these cars. I'd keep the TTA for sure. Only 1555 made there can't be but 800 or so left. I guess the key question is what do you want to do with the TTA when it's all done up. Show it? Drive it? Race it? If your going to do all that work and give her a easy life as a show car I'd say go for it. One thing is for sure it will be easy to sell all done up nice and will only go up in value. You'll at least get all your money back out of it I'm sure!

Yeah I agree with you guys. If I were to get a low milage stock car it would just sit, gaining value. If I keep mine I could drive it and not worry about milage so much, and still gain value. I think that's what I'm gonna do. Having said that besides paint and seat covers what other things should I do. I plan on putting at least 7k into the car. Like I said in the first post, the car is mechanically sound and in the 11's. So I don't really need to do much in the performance department, but I'm definatley open to suggestions. Assuming you have perfect paint and interior what else would you guys do to a car like mine?

Maybe do some "dress-up" under the hood? (if needed)........

"Nice!! Yea she will come up nice with all those improvements you talked about! I like the look of the nittos out back!

Does anyone have pics of their seats recovered with the JAX covers? I plan on doing front and back, replace the spoiler (Hawksthirdgen), and maybe put a new turbo and injectors.

I'm pretty sure these are Jax. This TTA has 198K on it! :jaw:

Now here is another option. You can pull the seat out of your car and send it to Jax's and they can just repair the bolster if that's all that's wrong with it. Here is a pic of a TTA with just the bolster fixed from Jax..

Now if your going to have the seats recovered send me the headrests and I can embroidery this logo on them for you! :)

Wow! That's impressive how nice that repaired bolster looks!!

I couldn't see the repaired one. Yeah the bloster is worn out on mine. Can you email it to me? I'll definatley send you the headrest. How long will it take?

Those TrailBlazer SS's have an LS2? Correct?

That's correct. I took it to the track when I first got it. 13.90 @ 100 mph. My wife won't let me modify it. Oh well, she'll give in one day.

Nice numbers!

That would be a really easy 12 second ride with a lil' :NOS:
