Leaking AC

With the age of our cars as it is, I'm sure a lot of you are having air conditioning problems.

How many of you guys have has to have AC hoses changed or o-rings changed.

My AC is short cycling so I know I am low on coolant. Just wondering what to expect when I bring it in to get serviced.

where are you going to get r12? pretty scarce around here..... The AC in this car sucks anyway(I'm fully charged) the interior never gets cool enough in the summer. I have a 170 themostat andnow im freezing my ass off in the winter. If you convert to 134a let me know if there is an improvement

if it were me, i would not convert to 134A. just my opinion of course. i've seen some cars converted over. they dont get as cold as r12 and they develop leaks. i think in order to do it right, ALL the o-rings, oil and refrigerant in the system needs to be replaced because r12 and r134 are not compatible. my dad's car was converted by the previous owner. fully charged it doesnt even feel cold on a warm day(about 75*). R12 does cost alot more, but you would have to find someone you trust and who knows what they're doing to convert your system. lucky for me my ac is still cold
