Jeff Beitzel dies at age of 54

I have never posted to this site before but have been learking since the old mail list. I was made aware of Mr. Beitzels death while watching an episode of Shooting USA. They aired a memorial to Mr. Beitzel that showed him behind the wheel of an HHR that one of his companys had outfitted for pace duty. I thought this would be a good time to post and make everyone aware of the passing of a person so instrumental in the creation of our cars. I have (hopefully) included a link to an article on the TV show "real housewives of o.c." which apparently Mr. Bietzel is appearing on this season with his girlfriend.

wow, I'm not going to look that deeply into it right now, but I contacted Jeff about a year and a half ago about some info on our cars... he seemed to be a great guy and I think he was truely in it for the automotive enthusiasm and would have been more than willing to help the community. If this is true, RIP Jeff, you created one of the greatest Pontiacs ever and it'll be remembered forever.

I totally agree Jared. I want to add more information as my first post was pretty vague. As I stated in the first post, I learned of Mr. Beitzels passing from watching a show called Shooting USA. This is a gun related show hosted by Jim Scouten. Mr. Scouten stated that he and Mr. Beitzel became friends while reporting on many of Mr. Beitzels projects for Car & Driver. Jim Scouten is the person narrating the the Car & Driver TNN segment on the TTA that is posted on You Tube. Mr. Scouten also stated that Mr. Beitzel was also interisted in guns and made several gun shows possible with his backing. (Thank you again Mr. Beitzel.) After learning this I was intrigued and wanted to find out more on Mr. Beitzel. So I searched the web and was even more surprised to learn Mr. Beitzel was appearing on a "chick" show. I asked myself; what are the odds of this being the same guy? I watched the show this evening and it appears to indeed be the same Jeff Beitzel of TTA fame. So I am going to be watching this "chick" show to learn his fate as it is a part of the shows plot. What a small world. I am including links for anyone who wishes to read more on Mr. Beitzel.
