I've got low BLMs

I will give that a try. I noticed something odd, it's backfiring again under higher boost, but only when the air is cooler (60s or so). When its around 80 or so, I can floor it without this happening.

I picked up an o2 sensor on my lunch break, I will try to put it in tonite after things cool off. It backfired badly under moderate boost this morning, and would backfire when I floored it on my lunch break, so now it's doing it when it's warm out. Could be degenerating...

Okay...so you've got a regular symptom that falls under a few possibles, one may be an ignition module/coil pack or....and I'm leaning this way...a flaky MAF sensor. That may very well explain the fueling issues too.

But again, a power logger file would leap us forward a ton.

If you're not familiar with the power logger go to fullthrottles web site and download the PL zip and install on your PC.

the 1.3.32 file to be specific

Then I'll send you a log file or two and you can see all the data that would be available to you to rule out possible problems.

Looks similar in ways to Turbolink, but with more features and a much faster refresh rate. I fully intend to get a power logger, in fact I will try to order one tomorrow.

For what it's worth, my MAF is only a few years old. I replaced it back in '07 when it failed during my Indiana road trip. But of course a part doesn't have to be old to fail. I'm curious to see if the o2's will read any differently tomorrow with a new sensor.

You'll get a new scanmaster chip with the power logger that increases the refresh rate too.

The PL is not an easy install but well worth it.

Sorry to hijack...

WS6, I'm considering pulling the trigger on a new laptop and powerlogger.
I was wondering if your getting your scanmaster chip from Turbo Tweak?
Also, what's not so easy about the install? Any forum links to any install pics maybe?

I don't know what Rich is talking about...

I thought the Powerlogger was very easy to install. :poke:

BTW, go out right now and buy a longer USB cable. The one fullthrottle sends is great for a GN. I bought a long ass one and snaked it under the carpet, up under the seat, and have it hidden and accessible at the front of the seat. Very sleek and easy to connect. It is also long enough for those techs at the track that say you can't run a laptop.

The TTA really does have a better install then the GN. The way it installs does not allow the powerlogger device to come unplugged since the TTA's ECM is inverted compared to a GN.

Cool, thanks for the info. I was looking at TurboTweak's chip that run along with a AFR gauge and the powerlogger. I guess it is programmed to run at a specific AFR and tries to correct itself throughout WOT run. Or that's how I understood it from the web site description. Anyone doing this? I guess I should have started another thread...DontKnow:

Okay,okay....The power logger simply is there to log what the ECM and car are doing. It operates at a faster update rate per sec than the scanmaster does. So, you get an update chip that you install in your scanmaster and it will now read data at much faster refresh rate.

What makes it difficult to install, really is dependant on your skill level and attention to detail.

I installed the PL, update chip and wideband O2 all at the same time. And thinking back the wideband was what was most time consuming because of the sensative ground issues and LED's and calibration switch that the LC1 needs.

Now, I think your refering to TT's 6.0 wideband targetting chip and how that works is that the chip targets a set (by you) air/fuel ratio under WOT. Normal driving still runs off the narrowband and functions like the 5.6 chip. The PL is simply the spectator, and the PL will work with the 5.6 chip with or without the wideband O2

Just wanted to post a small update to say I got the Power Logger, I'm just waiting for the time to become available to yank the ECM apart and jam it in.

I finally got the stupid thing in... I spent forever trying to seperate the two circuit boards. They went a little crazy with the glue and that threw me off. I will let the car re-learn tomorrow and see what data I can get.

Looks like I won't be getting any data. I dunno what I did wrong but my laptop won't connect to the car. Everything is plugged in, but no data.

Under communication setup, I unchecked automatic and set the number to 4. I still get no data. (underneath the "PLC Recording Triggers", is a drop down menu that still says "COM1". Should this still say 1?)

New problem, maybe related... I just put the included scanmaster chip in my scanmaster. When I start the car, the scanmaster tells me the scanmasterversion, then the powerlogger version. Then it just goes blank. No readout of any kind.

Edit: nevermind... I missed a whole page of instructions for this, whoops >.>

Okay, now I'm more confused. I think I may have loaded the wrong drivers, but I don't know how to change them. Looking in the instructions, it says to choose the folder for your version of windows. The only folders in "drivers" are "i386" and "amd64". These are not versions of windows, nor can I choose either of them for installing drivers. When I try to reload drivers, I can only choose the actual "drivers" folder, not the two files in that folder. This is quickly becoming horribly confusing.

Yea I found that, I've been looking. From what I can tell, there should be folders on the CD that seem to be missing from mine... I must get to the bottom of this.

Okay. I dunno if the ones on the cd are working at all, cuz I installed them and looked in the hardware monitor. It says there are no drivers.
