I saw you pulling out. I didn't get any missed calls. Send me a tx 574-229-3226. I'll be out there in the morning to g to Racine so I'll be looking for you Steve. If nothing else leave a cell number or something along those lines on the car like the windshield wipes or something.

Oh,
Do I love that ragtop second gen!!!!!! :)
Thanks for showing that!
Looks like a super time!
Thanks for all the pictures Steve!

:beach:

I knew I had to post the pic for you George :)

Ron I was thinking of you today in Chicago, dont know if you are a fan but I had to go there after seeing it on TV.

Hell yeah! Superdawg! Got a friend that lives a block or two away from there. Haven't been there in quite a few years. Good eatin'!

Very good eatin :) Sometimes I wonder if #124 has been there before, I purchased it from a guy named Anthony in Chicago.

Well off to Detroit (Mt Clemens) today

Glenn it was nice talking to you today. I gotta tell you guys I've met so many really nice people on this trip it's amazing. It's nice to hear stories of people who owned thirdgens back in the day and have run into a few original owners that still own their cars. I'm doing this trip alone so I've been eating at the bar in places like Applebees, Red Robin, and the Wall Street Grill (in my current hotel)and have struck up conversations with so many people from all walks of life, it's amazing the types of people that are traveling for whatever reasons and share stories from the road, places we've been to, and places we're heading to.

This is my third time doing it and I dont think there's anything better than traveling cross country in a TTA :)

-although I do think that cloth seats are much more comfortable than leather for long trips-

Damn I miss my GTA! Great pics!! If I wasnt getting married I would have a TTA in the garage next to my G8 GT!

I hear ya, getting married and having a baby put alot of my plans on hold for a while but it's worth it.

Dayton was nice, getting out of Detroit was a mess. Day 5 Dayton 6-10-09 pictures by tta850 - Photobucket

Today we left Dayton and went to the National Corvette Museum on the way to Somerset.
Put us a little out of the way but well worth it. Day 6 Somerset 6-11-09 pictures by tta850 - Photobucket

That 1,500,000 Vette is sweet, I like that the way they do the milestone cars in the original colors and the new GS looks hot.

Today was fun, took a really cool road from Somerset to Bristol and got to make 5 laps around Bristol Motor Speedway. I was car #4 in the first group to go out. they said they had never done this before and at took a while for them to figure out how they were going to do it. After one slow lap they spread us out and let us get on it pretty good, I only got it up to around 80mph coming out onto the straight which felt pretty fast on the progressive banking :) Definitely a highlight of the 2009 Hot Rod Power Tour.

Tomorrow is the Long Hauler Ceremony and then it's 600 miles back to NYC. All told I think this trip will end up a touch over 3000 total miles.

I want to finish this post by saying to all you TTA guys, get out and drive those cars and take them on the Power Tour. I'm not much into car shows but this was one of the most fun and interesting events I've done. You will see some of the most interesting and wacky cars along with some of the incredibly engineered cars, meet and talk to the owners and builders of these cars, see them actually get driven and see how they hold up to the rigors of the road and weather. I know I'm probably not going to be able to do this again next year but I will do the tour again, and I hope to take my family with me next time.

See ya on the road,

Steve

I was at the Racine Wisconsin part of the tour and saw one TTA stroll through but didnt see who was driving it. And the Camaro with the ZR1 driveline and suspension is kick ass, just don't know where he got all the parts?

Wow! and WOW!. Great pics. I dig the S/C 69 camaro... You were in my neck of the woods. I was in Bowling Green last weekend. I found the below car at the used classic car dealer right next to the Corvette Museum. It's a 87 white T-Type that I' like to have.

Mike Arrigo, sorry I missed you. We got into Racine late after fighting hours of traffic I hung around for a short while and went to the hotel. That makes 4 TTA's that were at tour events. Aside from you at Racine, I went long haul, Jared made the first 3 stops, and there was one at Madison with black wheels (dont know who that was though).

I hope more TTA's show up at the T/A Nats this August and enter the Anniversary class. Would be cool to get a large group shot.

You know, I've always liked white T-Type's and Turbo-T's but I dunno about them stripes.

:whs:

I've seen tons of Turbo Buicks and never seen any stripes that UGLY! And I usually stop by that little dealer next door when I stop by the museum. It's always fun to window shop.

The one with the black wheels is mine. Blew the trans when I got to madison. Had to trailer her home and took my 91 Formula the rest of the way. Just had it rebuilt 2 weeks prior by Jimmy's Trans. Dropped it off when I came back and he found it to be a bad non-lock up valve he installed. Took care of everything and got my car back today. Nothing but good hings to say about Jimmy. I will definitely bring my t-type to him in the future.
