2nd flat tire in a month...

I was going to the autoparts store for my trucks 30k mile maintenance schedule and got that...while in the store the dumbass behind the counter argued with me that GM doesn't use rear differential gaskets. I said go get a 10 bolt gasket and bring it out...well he did and what do you know it said "GM 10 bolt" right on the front. :chair:

Plugs....This is just my opinion coming from 4 years working at a Goodyear store back in the early 80's.Most tire manufactures will not warranty any tire that has a plug pushed through it. And I saw why, when you jam a plug through a tire you are leaving in the belts, a foreign object that aids in belt seperation. It festers there, expanding and contracting with the tire and allowing moisture,dirt to wick in and start the belt seperation process.
If you are going through the trouble of removing a nail or something, why replace it with another something? Just have the tire taken off and patched from the inside. It's better repair, especially on a tire that probably sees 100MPH on occasion.

I get the whole do it yourself attraction to the plug kit and the relatively quick fix that it is, but I saw too many plugged tires seperate to justify the quick fix. And I know that alot of people do it, but alot of people smoke too.

It is patched from the inside. But those points you made are good points. Never thought of it that way...

Haha on the brown residue...that is NW Arkansas clay..they are building a new highschool football stadium behind our school and the dump trucks feel the need to drive through our parking lot leaving clumps of mud...

And this tire is lucky to 80...it is a truck that doens't even compare to the TTA. I drive this thing like a grandpa.
