Hood insulator

Looking for a hood insulator for a TTA. Saw one and thought it looked great. Also searching for a ATR cat back exhaust. One that bolts up. Any stainless bolt up would do actually.
 
A number of us got the hood liner from carmotorsports ... nice but pricey and shipping is alot ... but looks great.

Exhaust any 3rd gen catback will fit ... just look at the connecting end for the catalytic converter as you might need to order a ball flange style to fit or make up your test pipe or catalytic converter to fit ...

I have heard alot of bad stories dealing with them but all I can say is my transaction went ok with the exception that I'm not completely satisfied with the headliner kit but thats not their fault, I should not have gone with a PUI kit.

I have a carmotorsports insulator for my 25th and I think its a great product. I need to get one for the tta.

From what I see, it is not the same as the original TTA. If you look above at the one from carmotorsports, it is at least shaped the same as the original including the oval cutout in the top left of the insulator. This one is completely different from what I see on the link you provided.
 
Your right, it's not exactly the same - but I can tell you it looks alot more stock than a smooth one with a big bird and TURBO written on it. The car motorsports one is nice but doesnt give me the stock look I wanted, and cost 6 times as much money :eek:
 
I could work on a group purchase for an original type Underhood Insulator. I invented the CAR Motorsports version, when I was an owner.

Sounds good. Are you saying that it would be the same shape and design as an original ? I took my original off when I bought my TTA because it looked somewhat worn and used the Carmotorsports one which as you know is shaped the same but is Flat and does not have the indentations that the original has because it is made of falt cardboard with the felt overlay
I would love to buy one that looks stock as long as its that exact that no one can tell
its aftermarket.

:bomb: I would not deal with Young's. Here is a snippet from the Charlotte Observer -

I could have an OEM Reproduction Made. We would need a minimum of 200 units sold at a price of $120 each. The mold costs would be $15,000 to get started. Each insulator would cost at least $50 to manufacture.

Worth it if its exaclty like the original including the material and texture.
 
If it's OEM looking all the way you know I'm in for one. I'm sure you could sell at least a dozen or more on eBay as well. That is one part that didn't hold up well and if someone blew a hose off it gets ugly fast!
 
Or we get the company to show up at the reunion as a vendor. They would sell alot and we would save on shipping.
In the next few weeks maybe longer, I will call and email these vendors to let them know about the event.
