:mad2:Well drove it to the dealership to drop off my keys for my daily driver which had to be towed there yesterday, got home, grabbed breakfast and was heading to work. Come out to the car and it won't start. Turn the key forward, nothing, won't even attempt to crank, all the lights come on the dash but it won't do anything.

I didn't have time to check battery voltage or if headlights work or anything like that, though I doubt its a battery when it goes from completely running to not even cranking within minutes. Is this some sort of VATS issue?

I won't get to check anything until after 6 tonight and not too much I can really try because allll my tools are in the cobalt, which is at the dealer. Help this is my only car to get back and forth to work right now since the other car is down too :mad2:

I had an issue like this and it was the connection between the 12Vpower cable and the soleniod on the starter. I took the starter out and took it apart and cleaned things up, then bolted the power cable back on nice and tight. Have not had a problem since. THe voltage gauge in the dash showed low volts about 8-9 but when I put a volt meter on teh battery it was at 12V and my alternator was new. After I tightened things up the dash volts gauge matched the battery at 12 or more.

Jarred.

Try jump starting it first before jumping to conclusions. How old is the battery? Batterys usually give warning but I've had 2 that haven't...the only two I've ever replaced coincidentally.

Came home started right up no issues, wtf

It was wet out this morning maybe something got splashed with water that shouldnt have?

Mine wouldn't start while hot for a while. Turned out to be the starter. High torque mini starter seems to have cured that right up.

I've never had problems before ever, though its more humid now than its been since last summer.

I'm afraid to drive it anywhere now because I'm not sure its going to act up again. I'd honestly feel much better if something was broken.

My car has does this to me a few times. Mostly when I stop to get gas after a drive to work or home. I found that with mine if I turn it off and on a few times(from off to start) it will actually turn over again and start. I don't know if that is the same issue but it worked for me. normally I just let the car run while I pump gas now.

I'm going to drive it tommorow and see what happens, I'm sure it will prob be fine now, either way I'm getting that starter if its the right one.

Also is there a complete battery wire set, I want to replace the whole deal with new wire. Eliminate any wiring issues to the starter if there is any.
