Try this place, they have old discontinued oem tires. Go toward the bottom of the page. says 245/45/16, but the one's below look like they may be 50's

Those are NOT year correct Gatorbacks for these cars. Sad part is unless they are year correct they really are not worth much.

Are those GSCs new?
They are the line of tires that came out after the Gaterbacks.
Not the same tire.
The Gaterbacks were used till the end of the thirdgen run (1992), then the new GSCs came out on the Vettes, Camaros and the Trans Ams from 1993 and on.
Even if the date codes are off on the Gaterbacks, they are still worth pretty good money, if unused.
I am lucky to have found the last set of Gaterbacks that Tire Rack had in stock.
I am using them right now, and I see no cracks or anything wrong with them.
I don't plan on any high speed runs, so I'm not worried.
I only drive my car about 100 miles a year now.
I would love to get a set of GSCs for a second set of rims for my car.
I may even buy some other brand, but I really want GSCs.
I will check, but I may have a good Gaterback 255 tire off a Vette.

:beach:

I have my original set, stored in plastic and soaked in the old 2001 polish that had silicone in it. Have to dig them out and see if they are still good as far as dry rot. If they are, I'm wondering if they can be retreaded? The were pretty much worn to the to the indicator bar, or even a little more. I would like to use them for show as well!

Nope! Just showing how ridiculous some people get over this type of stuff. I have a spare set that has been stored for the last 16 years and they are shot as well! I think any gatorback you get now will be dangerous, or a retread anyway. Hopefully they start making reproductions like they did the polyglass

If ridiculous and over the top then why store a set of 'shot' tires for 16 years? Just asking? :)

By the way ... yes those tires I posted are NEW NOS NEVER MOUNTED GSC's ... if interested let me know and I'll get you a price. I do know they're not cheap but I can get 2 sets of them.

Because they had 300 miles on them and they were free! I kept them because When i got the car from my parents the originals were already 7 years old and flat spotted from the car sitting so much. I was going to put them on after I killed the originals doing burnouts, but by then BFG's were the tire to have so I figured I'd wait to put them on, never did and probably won't be able too!
