My radio won't turn off...anyone run it to this before?? It turns on and off with the ignition switch, but if I push the power button the display shows the time and radio continues but nothing can be changed (volume etc).
I push the pwr button again and the freq and volume is displayed.....???
 
That's a new one on me. What happens if you hold the power button for like 5 sec to turn it on or off?
 
mine doesnt do that but it is strange it will pick up am just fine but will not pick up even the best fm stations hardly out of town
 
Sounds like the push button switch has worn out or the side of the relay that it activated by the switch has gone out. These factory radios are almost 20 years old. If they have been used often then they are reaching the end of their lives. You have a few options, find a shop that will repair it, find a used one on Ebay or other forums, or buy an aftermarket unit and keep the original in a box for safe keeping. If you are going for an all original interior then having it fixed may be your best option since used ones can have problems too. If you are good with electronics you can always try opening it up and fixing it yourself.
