What's under the hood of those??

I have one in the neighborhood and am wondering how my GXP will carry itself light to light with it.

I'm a 5.3 LS4 and drag times.com shows the G8 at 13.7-13.8 and the GXP at 13.8.

I'd like to run it!

Very nice!! My brother-in-law just picked up a white one, I got to drive it the other day, and I must admit I'm impressed. Congrats on the new ride.

To ClassyGTA:
I like it. How is the ride with the 19s on it?

To WS6:
For comparison sake, I've driven both a GP GXP and a G8 GT (with 18s), both as rental cars. Ah yes, membership has its priveledges.

Unfortunately, I did not have the best conditions to test both cars. It was winter in Denver for the GXP and I totally regretted my choice about 5 minutes after leaving the airport. Rides like a TTA, which is to say, IMO, not very comfortable. Those 255s up front do not like bumpy surfaces or potholes and I was never really able to put the power down due to the temperature and conditions. This wouldn't be my pick for a daily driver.

With the G8, on the other hand, I had warm weather & open, twisty roads. The ride is excellent while still being very sporty. And the 6 speed auto in sport mode is very responsive and actually does what it's supposed to do. The "manumatic" mode does hold whatever gear you'd like and stays there. Very fun to drive, plenty of room for driver, passengers, and anything else, and has a level of fit & finish usually not found on a GM car. Too bad we won't see it much longer. For a daily driver this would be a great car. And there are plenty of supercharger options out there if you want to go even faster. Or there's always the G8 GXP.

Just my $.02. Now back to your regular scheduled program...

Vary Nice! I'm trying to take advantage of the 0% financing on a GXP right now, dealer is having trouble finding one in black. There are some videos on You Tube of GXP's going high 12's stock, I think the GT's are just a few tenth's slower.
