Full Throttle stumble/hesitation

TTA#545

Under full throttle acceleration just prior to each shift point my TTA stumbles and or hesitates. There is no code being set by the computer. The MAF sensor was recently replaced. It does not feel like a misfire.

do you have a scan tool? Is there any knock? You might just be seeing some knock right at the shift points and it'll pull timing and kind of stumble.

We really need some some data from like a scanmaster or better yet a powerlogger. Other than that it is some trial and error and parts swapping.

If it were me I'd be looking at the MAF for "tip in" stumble and or TPS settings.New MAF's don't mean good MAFs, there is some replacements that aren't calibrated for turbo V6 use but rather some N/A V6 apps.

High RPM (like 4800) break up? then I'd be looking at coil pack or module trouble and I would re-spec the crank sensor too.

And as simplistic as it sounds, dumping the ECM's memory to force a re-learn can help, especially with MAF replacement.

Just replaced my plug wires and the hestitation at high rpm's went away.:D I think one or two of the wires were breaking down.
I just ordered an ignition module and coil pack too! It'll sit on a shelf I guess.

If you pull your coil pack off the module underneath and find the the turbo buick version of "pert shampoo" (a mint green gooey substance leaking out of the water proofing material) your module is not long for this world, or has already checked out. This a good thread for those who have a major hicup during a hard pull. I chased knock, plug wires, cam position sensor, etc. before the module and coil showed up with help of a friend and coil tester.
