1989 Indy 500 Pace Car logo belt buckle. Has 73rd Indy 500 logo with Pace Car logo in "brushed finish" on solid brass buckle. Also has history of car on reverse side. Very rare item in excellent condition. $100 OBO, shipping inc. in cont. US.

Is this buckle a "1 of 500" item? Or is it a reproduction of the buckle used at the 1989 Indy 500 as a pit/garage pass?

From what I know this buckle was available for purchase in the gift shop at Indy but considering that was almost 18 years ago they're hard to come by, just like many other items.

There were 2 different belt buckles run in limited editions of 500. One looks just like the one pictured except in solid pewter with a number stamped on the back. The other is an oval shaped buckle with a white background trimmed in gold and just the Indy 500 logo from '89. It also has a number stamped on the back.

Besides already having the brass one, I have a pewter one that is numbered fairly low, and one that is pewter, with no number!
It's stamped AP, for Artist Proof!
So, not all are numbered 1 thru 500! :)

You guys are killin me...... There is so much really cool stuff that goes with these cars..... Im having a blast gathering stuf up.
 
Wait 'til I get to my book & magazine collection. 1 large bin full of books and 3 boxes of magazines. This is a collection that took me 10 years+ to build.

Then there's still a much smaller collection of GN/TR/GNX stuff as well. And a couple of Syclone/Typhoon items.

What can I say, I'm just like one of the stars in rehab. "Hi everyone, my name is Ron...and I'm a recovering collector." :yes: :cheers: :drunk:

I got my snipe in like I always do :fuckkk: You had good key words on this one compaired to that other one so you might get a decent amount for it. It's just about out of my snipe range already! I just wanted 2 so I can have a case made to display the front and back of it :drool:

Yeah, I remember that mentality, if one is good then two is better. Luckily a doctor recoginized the symptoms and said the only cure was to sell everything!!! :chair:
My '87 GN diecast didn't do as well as I hoped for though. :wall: Like anything on eBay it's hit or miss.
