Found an abandoned TTA in a field, whats it worth?

I happened to be rummaging through a field in my truck and spotted an old white Trans Am with a hood smothered in surface rust lying out near a fence. I noticed it said Pace Car on the side and had been debadged. Overall it looked to be in fairly decent shape minus the rust issue. From what I remember it had t-tops and leather seats.

I also spotted a white 240sx coupe that was in fabulous shape. I went to the property owners house and asked her about the 240sx, then followed up with how much she wanted for the TA. She stated she wanted 6500 for the TA which made me think she was nuts because I thought it was just an old TA. Apparently she wasnt nuts, as these cars are in demand.

Im just curious, would it be worth it to buy this car if it ran? Or how much would a car like this be worth as just a rolling shell, 100+k miles, and a motor that doesnt run?

From your description and sight unseen, sure as hell not $6,500 bucks......

I'd say $2,000 at best............I need pics and more info to go higher than that.
 
Gotta go back and at least take some pics of it just to see a TTA in a field! :) It could be worth the 5K area. Depending on how bad of shape it's in. It is for the most part just a GTA with some extra goodies but I'm sure you could part it out for at least 5K. Get some pics and more info! :)
 
ok grabbed some pics, ill have to resize them and since im using my buddys MAC and out of town, I cant post them up just yet.

It is indeed a turbo transam. I opened up the hood and noticed the turbo and 6cyl engine. Also it has the TA badging laying in the car. The leather on the driver seat is torn to shreds from sun exposure. The car has 222k miles. The exterior is in good shape minus a few dings and surface rust on the hood. I doubt the car runs with the amount of miles.

Anyway, Ill post pics as soon as possible, but would a car like this be worth 3500 at most?

With the blown engine..............yep, I'd say that 3,500 would be pretty generous.

That will be a lot of work and a lot of $$$$ .... but do like to see it saved one way or another. By the way did you get the VIN???

That's what I was thinking! lol Someone enjoyed the hell out of that TTA. 2500 - 3000 range maybe? Who knows what the underneath looks like. Might have a lot of critters living in that sucker. Ones that sting and ones that bite! Would be a fun project to redo. As long as it's all there I'm sure you could bring it back to life again.
 
Give em $800, then sell the unique stuff online. The original down pipe unique to the TTA if in descent shape may bring $400, then the headers cleaned up should bring $400, the intake stuff, like the intake tube and original air cleaner should bring $300, the wires, $200. I dunno, looks done as hell to me.
 
Wow that car is trashed. Prolly only good for parts now, unless you got a boatload of cash to spend on the car. After a total resto it still wouldn't be worth the money spent. Gotta do it for the love.
