Does 700R4 bolt in TTA or GN?

I was wondering if the 700R4 fits the same as the 200R4? I can get two or three 700's at any given junkyard, but 200's seem harder to come by! Also, my friend had a fresh one in his camaro that he crashed a couple weeks ago he is willing to sell it to me for $250. I asked this question in couple of turbo buick forums, but it seems that new members are somewhat ignored there! That is why I bought a TTA in the first place, because everyone from the mailing was so eager to give tips and help diagnose problems! Also, if I can a 700 what is out there for shift kits and trans brakes? I live in an isolated area, and B&M is the only thing I can get, but their kits suck!

Hi Daniel,

I never seen or heard of anyone using the 700, I know the 400 been used successfully, I think the main reason is that it's not strong enough or it might be that the housing does not fit without a adapter plate of some sort.

For sure you would need to replace the transmission cross member, drive shaft. Not sure about the electronic lockup if that would work correctly with the TTA.

Post your question on www.turbobuick.com and I'm sure someone will let you know as they are very helpful, make sure you post it in the Turbo Trans Am section.
